Title: Milibe And Twyla
Morbid - June 14, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
I'm trying to get a proper ID or confirmation on these girls so if you've got any input I'm all ears! :)
I believe LaBella ID'd Miss (or Missus actually lol) Milibe as a yellow plat Cambo.

Here's the one I haven't much of a clue on. The tiny Miss Twyla, a pastel (grizzle?)? You can see some of the blue/green in her fins and she's got a little bit of it in the body as well only they don't show up in the photos. I got her as a VT and though I'm not sure of her tail-type I know she's not a VT as she has 4 rays. Don't let her delicate looks fool you. This girl's one tough little broad!

Thank you for looking! ^_^

The second girl is a pastel. Grizzle would have irrids scaling.

I  both of them. Where do you live? I'm gonna come by and steal them once I can drive

Is that what grizzle is, just iridescent scaling?

I agree that second one definately looks like a pastel. Both of them are beautiful fish.

Yup. That is all grizzle is. And a fish can be dark grizzle or pastel grizzle, which really gets things confusing, lol.

Oooh, now I hope you don't mind elaborating. :D
You've gotten me all curious.
I was looking at Twyla very closely a few days ago and noticed that she had a very faint pattern on her. It's almost like marble but there's not much of a difference in her base color and the patchy color, just in the sheeny-ness, for lack of a better word.
There were parts of her that would iridesce a very pale green and these patches made a pattern that was similar to the pattern on camouflage. I can only see these colors/patterns in certain angles in the light, otherwise she looks generally like a solid-colored fish.

Geezawheez! Those are GORGEOUS girls!!! I'm jealous!

If you look at red fish, or at yellow fish, you will often see black scaling.
Grizzle is that scaling, but only in one of the irridescent colors.
In fact, a grizzle in show terms can ONLY be in one of the irrids colors, and can't be yellow or red.
Hope I didn't comfuse you more.

hehe thanks!
Milibe came from I a girl I was rooming with while in the psych ward. Sweet girl with a very mature air about her. Thing that stuck out though was that no one ever seemed to be able to pronounce her name correctly.
Twyla cam from her previous owner. Girly name for a girly-girl I think is what she wanted. I didn't want to change it cause I thought it fit her but boy can looks decieve. She's absolute chaos! lol :OO
Thanks for the pic ECB! :D
