(Missed a phase here where the green on the fins went away and the blue covered almost all of the body... didn't have a chance to get pics. :( )

I can't believe these both marbled so drastically... since they were the only two fry, and both of their parents are solid. O_o I'm DEFINITELY not complaining though!! :D Especially since I have ~15 of their full siblings from a second spawn... yay!

Got to love that marble gene.

Very nice color combinations Elise. I can't wait to see what you get with their siblings..
I agree with LaBella...

I know that out of two spawns where both parents were solid colored, in each spawn I have one marble male out of each spawn. When I jarred both of them, they were cute little solid bettas. Now, here's what one of them looks like:

He paled for a little bit and now he's darkening back up in the grey blue spots, and his fins and spread have improved. He also has a matching cousin that I'm keeping to show (I like his pattern better, bettwe 50/50). It's been recomended that if you are interested in marbles to cross a marbled fish to a solid one that carries the trait, so it looks like you have the beginings of a really nice matble line!

Ooh, and don't feel bad. Out of two solid dark bodied pairs, I have gotten marbles, light bodied, and dark bodied fish. It's all what the parents carry, and alot of times, it's a who knows what situation!

One nice thing about marbles is they're always changing. One bad thing about marbles is they're always changing................

You are exactly right, lol.

He has colored up more, and I refuse to attempt to predict what he will do next!

Awesome looking fish E! As for marbles, they are unpredictable until someone breeds them to be fixed. lol
