I want to relay my experience with an aquabid seller - Donaldbetta.

I bought a metallic green male from him on aquabid. This was the fish I bid on:



Unfortunately, this wasn't the fish I received. Additionally, the female I purchased was poor quality: she has so much red wash she's practically multi-color.

When I contacted him, he said I was wrong - it was the same fish. I detailed the differences in the fish I received from the fish that was pictured. He then replied that I was correct - he checked with his people, and his 'farmboy' mistakenly sent the wrong fish. He offered to replace the fish and send another female.

Does this look like a 'chewed tail' to anyone?

Be careful who you buy from, guys. I paid $35 for this male, and another $35 for the female. Add in the shipping charges...

Oh dear! That was sweet of Linda to give you a heads up. She's the best. Keep us posted on how Donaldbetta resolves this. It does look like it's the right betta, and it is possible he did do the damage to himself in shipping. I've heard of several cases. Did you check Donaldbetta's feedback? Other than a positive one from you saying the pair was very nice a couple weeks ago there are only 4 other people that have left feedback. All 45 were positive. Looks like all of Amandawillow79's 17 purchases were from Donaldbetta. I did a search in the feedback forum and nothing came up. Hopefully this is an isolated bad interaction. I will be cautious just the same.

He reimbursed my money for the pair today. I'm not going to go back and forth with replacements and shipping charges, on and on... I'm done with it.

And the farmboy excuse doesn't hold water for me either.

Actually, if you would have looked at his feedback a week ago, you would have seen that he sent someone else a different fish than pictured in his listing. That buyer was very vocal about their disappointment - they must have changed their feedback. At least he seems to rectify these issues as they occur.

And I agree - Linda is great. I wouldn't use anyone else. None of this is her fault, and I also appreciate that she gave me a 'heads up' and didn't just send the fish...

At least you got your money refund and that is the matter. :D
