Title: My New Hmpk Pair

bettas4me - May 16, 2007 08:20 AM (GMT)
Here's my new HMPK pair I picked up recently. I was concerned that he didn't have the "point" on his anal, but saw a class for symmetrical PKs in the IBC standards. Regardless, I like him!!

The female hasn't "egged up" yet, but when she does they're heading straight to the spawning tank!!!

Thanks, I like 'em. The male is more of a steel blue, where as the female is a royal blue. Should make some pretty babies!!!

yes symm. PKs are pretty much the shortfin version of the long fin HM. They do not hurt your HM line ;)

Very nice fish! Excelent pattern to the both of them, nice coloration. Are the fem's pectorals butterflied too? She also looks like she might have a bit of grizzeled in her. Can't wait to see what you get for babies from this pair!

She always seems to have very nice females for some reason. She must be selling what other breeders are keeping for breeding.

Yeah, they have the BF pattern too. You can see them in the smaller inset pic.

The water just isn't making any progress towards cycling though. I added a small bag of gravel from another tank and laid it on top of the foam filter to try to up the bacteria count and move things along.

AWESOME pair, B4M!!!

They look really nice - and I love symmetrical PKs! IBC has them in trial class right now, but they'll be approved next year.

I have a pair coming this week myself - from Sieg Illig. Can't wait to get them!

CONGRATS!!!

Thanks! I hope the IBC does start a permanent class for them. I really like the look. The more I look at him, the better I like him. Kinda like a miniature longtail HM. LOL
