Ello! my name is Clarissa
I am new to da world of bettas I own a pair of wild type mahachai's I dunno If I am spelling it properly i guess my question to ye's is when breeding them and conditioning is it the same as breeding and conditioning the fancies or is it a different completely different process As I have stated I am new to the world of bettas (feels embarrassed for not being to knowledgeable)

Makesure the PH is low like 6.8ph. Just add more Indian almond leaf. Same way as normal betta breeding. :)
3 inches water is good enough. Can be in 10 gallon tank. ;) When the female is ready, she will sure breeding. Very easy to breed. ;)

My mahachai bred for me by accident! LOL I just had a pair living together in a heavily planted 10 gallon tank and they went and spawned with no prep or help from me. I was getting ready to change the water one day and I noticed the male guarding a nest full of eggs. At that point I just pulled the female and left the male until the fry were free swimming then pulled him. I got about 30 fry with absolutely no effort on my part. :OO They are about 3 1/2 months old now and doing great! I set up another spawn the "traditional" way about a month ago and got a good amount of fry, but for some reason they all disappeared on me at about 3 weeks old. I think all the plants in the first tank really made a difference. That tank in the first spawn was completely full of java moss and hornwort.
