I got this guy from freecycle, with a tank.. and I kept buying more neons for him to school with, but they never made it out of quarantine before dying.
I ended up putting him with the girls, and the poor guy was trying to school with them.
I will say this, he was a super hardy fish..
He ate betta food, lived with the bettas, no filtration, no airline, just water changes..
I called him my canary fish, that if he died, I knew there was something wrong with my tank, lol.
I still felt really bad for him, so one day, I decided to offer him up for someone with other tetras on freecycle.
He joined a school of 5 others.. so I think he is a lot happier.
Of course, I wonder if he thinks now, that he is a betta.
He was a really good fish too, no nipping the girls, nothing.

Yeah, I wanted to keep him, but none of the other I bought for him lived.. I am guessing they didn't like me, even though I set things up for them pretty much perfectly.
