Was my initial response to this fellow.

Have you noticed how hard it is to find really nice DTs lately? I'm not seeing much at all on AB that's worth having. It's a bit sad around there right now. Nothing is moving and I don't really see the quality I used to see.

Exactly. It's like "Hmm, this guy looks decent." and then I take a second look and it's like "Ehh..."

Nothing exciting at all.

On the other hand, your bettas and Debbie's bettas always gets me excited. :WOU :WOU :WOU

So funny Sherry I was thinking it ws me, i was like i must have a more refined betta eye now then I did a few months back becuase I can't find anything i really like, and i used to alwasy go nuts on tehre with fish I wanted,But I think your right there just seems to be alot of Ok bettas nothing really exciting like I use to see.

I know there were a few big betta farms effected by floods and other disasters. I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a factor. It is sad though, all these new people and all they really care about is making money not having quality fish as before.

I like his color.. That is hot, and he is a breedable fish, but needs a couple generations of work, I think.

very cool color, but I think Belle's right. I'd pair him off with a nice HM gas and then do some F2 and F3 work to improve the fins.

I know Nipon Boontaing was affected by the floods, he's promised to get back to me when he's built up his stock again, I'm hoping he didn't loose to much of his purple gas line!

I don't know of any reputable breeder or seller or anything. I usually just save boys from LFS. I don't mind doing that, I enjoy it, but seeing all these..... I'd like to experience having a... how do you say---- top notch betta!!!! :WOU

She has been racking it up with the wins, she knows her stuff, and she is HERE..
And of course, if you HAVE to have Thai fish.. She's got them too.
Cameofin Bettas is another I HIGHLY recommend. Also here
RuthCatrin is also a highly recommended breeder. Also here
Shelly Dilias, aka flashbackpat is also on my list, but she might not have anything at this time. She is also highly pointed in the shows.
Also Al, of great white bettas, who is a shower as well..
Between these people, they pretty much have the spectrum of bettas covered, and are great people as well as being knowledgable breeders, and they are all working show quality fish, and those that are showing are winning.

I deffinately agree that the quality is gone way down on ab seems stale rite now it seems . colors seem to be kewler than usual in the fancy's on there though. B)

Yeah, it just makes me wonder though.

I think a lot of breeders have realized that they can sell more fish on wow factor. That they don't have to have neartop notch stuff to ask top notch prices, because most of the people that are buying don't have the skill to know what the difference is between a great fish and a good fish.

You're right.. unfortunately. It makes me sad and is one of my pet peeves! <_<

This guy's gorgous, but he looks like his spine might be bent a bit? hard to tell, it might just be the pic angle....

Nice fins, but he's got the body of Quasimodo.

I don't know, it looks like he is 3/4 turned AWAY from the camera, giving him a forshortened look.
The perspective is off..
But unless they got a good true profile, I wouldn't get him.

it LOOKS like there's a slight bobble in the spine right before the dorsal, but otherwise he looks ok, at least to me

Ruth i like the yellow better, i breed my yellow to my MG female and All my babies are MG colors and they all have yellow fins, so i think the yellow guy will work out wonderfully at you house.
