Title: Lima Bean Paramecium

Has anyone ever grown these as fry food? I'm tempted to try it just to see how it goes. I have only found directions on how to start it in one place. It makes me wonder if it really is paramecium or just a version of insufuria.

Hmmmm.. I've seen some links on Paramecium. I'll have to look them up for you. But I myself have never tried them. I do know some folks who like to use them.

oh my reply went AWOL. oh well. Thanks for the links. The bug farm mentions starting with a culture and that makes sense. The ones I'm unsure about talk about starting with lima beans or vegie matter and *poof* paramecium show up. I always want to know WHERE the came from............. I think I'll stop and buy glass jars to try it anyway. I still don't see the difference between the recipes where you don't have a starter culture and the recipes for insufuria. I know paramecium are a part of insufuria but how do you end up with a pure culture of paramecium?
