Title: Lfs Sale

Hubby and I headed to a LFS to get some fish to difuse a nasty situation in the 29 gal community tank. Veiltails were on sale for $1.50! One of the workers said the shop had been at a garden show last weekend (the shop also does a lot of ponds) and the buyer had gone a little crazy with bettas in vases. I'm not going to get started on the bettas in vases, but, they usually care for their fish well, if their advise isn't always the greatest. (Me listening to their advice in the first place caused the problem in the community tank.)
Ever since we got home I'm going crazy looking in the house for suitable homes for bettas! I think I have hubby talked into getting a 10 gal at Walmart tomorrow so we can set up a divided tank :):) Another LFS has filters on sale :) I have enough gravel in the community tank that I can put in a new tank and have it be cycled already :):) Off to Walmart we go tomorrow morning, then the LFS in the afternoon. I have a enough temporary homes for the Bettas until the silicone for the dividers in the new tank dries.
After a few hours I think I have the problem in the community tank solved and I'm plotting new Bettas. A pretty good weekend it's turning out to be :)

:D You sound like I did years ago when I first went Betta crazy.
Of course, I'm not crazy now. ^_^ Oh no, now I only have around 700 Betta. Not a tiny bit crazy even! :P

Is that in ADULT fish, or adult/spawns? Because if you have 700 adult fish, you definatly ARE crazy!!! :OO

Hubby glued the dividers in the tank yesterday and today we set it up :) I have 3 handsome gents in their new home :) I have the 10 gal tank sitting on top of a chest with 2 2 gal vases at the front corners. The gents in the 10 gal tank don't seem to notice each other. The end gents seem to notice the gents in the vases and the gents in the vases seem to notice the gents at the end.
Hubby used to call this room the office. I wonder if it will push his patience if I call it the fish room. We now have 6 Bettas and a 29 gal community tank in the room...

Sounds great, you are well on your way to Betta Madness. There is no cure. No patch or pill that can help. Oddly, those afflicted wouldn't want one. truely a strange affliction indeed. ^_^
