I've seen bettas labeled as green that look blue, I'm guessing depending on the light. I really like the color green, especially dark green. Is it possible to get green thats actually green? I'm still learning about the layers of colors and what not. Actually I don't care if it has a shiney appearance or not. I just want a fish that is green. Like the fish in my avatar. I know, he's not green. He's a beautiful fish. I just don't like the fact that depending on the light he's a royal blue, which is also beautiful. He's the first copper I've ever gotten and I was just expecting the color in the picture. I don't want to spend $ on a fish that looks green in the picture and turns out to look more blue in person (or 'fish' in this case). Does that make sence? If I were to take a guess at it I'd guess it's because of the metallic that makes them change color in the light. Isn't the metalic on the outer surface of the scales?
Well, your fish is a copper, which makes for some very interesting color changes. I have had coppers look green, gold, black and purple, depending on the light... And this is the same fish, lol.
You would want an irrids fish in green, which is showed with turquoise.
There is still an issue with how blue the fish might look, and honestly, if you are getting it from a man, there might still be an issue, as most men have a slight form of color blindness and has difficulties with the color differences in turquoise and royal, expecially when the turq is a little more blue than it should be.
There are some breeders working an emerald green, with the metallic genes. Those fish are really really green, but I would assume the likelyhood of throwing coppers is also very high. They are usually copper/green or copper/turquoise crossed.
