They are all so pretty....I love their colors...oh quick question...on the first pic that odd hang down part under his chin..is that part of his gills? I was out looking at some Crowntails myself a few weeks ago and noticed something like that...lol and it kind of freaked me out I honestly think I thought it had gotten cut.

That IS a part of the gill. They call that the beard. Usually it is tucked under the operculum, or gill plate, until the male flares, at which time they stick it out in a display to make them look more intimidating to other males and sexy to females.
However sometimes do to injury, disease, or birth defect, a betta will have a beard that can't fold up under the gill plate. In those bettas, I have not noticed it bothers them.
