wildmagiclady - March 9, 2007 02:37 PM (GMT)
Yeah! I wanna see babies when you do that. Are they dragon or crossed to opaque, do you know?
MObetta122 - March 9, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
well they were sold as gold dragon dt's so i assume dragon im anxious to see what i get as well lol :T
bettaqueen - March 9, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
yup they look like yellow dragons to me. Very pretty
wildmagiclady - March 9, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
Yes they do. You know that dragon is derived not only from metallic but also using Opaque don't you?
Anyway, I like them.

It would've been better if you had a single tail female or something. DT x DT = lots of fry to cull!
:) But I'm looking forward to see the best of the batch from this spawn!
yeevia2006 - March 10, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
You breeding them yet MO? ^_^ Gold Dragon huh? :P
MObetta122 - March 10, 2007 06:07 AM (GMT)
I didnt know that Haeun why is that ?? i never had a dt before i got a yellow hmpk i can cross him to if that would be better B) and yes i read some information on what you said wild mite go nice with those opaques huh B)
yeevia2006 - March 10, 2007 06:24 AM (GMT)
It just depent their gene. Sometimes they are ok but 50% are croke spin tail. You can see it when they were frys. :) So just cull them if you see it. ^_^
wildmagiclady - March 11, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
The other problem incurred from breeding DT X DT is shorten bodies. I always get ST females to breed to my DT males.
Anywhoot! Good luck!
MObetta122 - March 11, 2007 06:42 AM (GMT)
thanks for the info :D im gonna run one dt dt cause ya know i just got to see for myself lmao nuttin better than hands on learnin then i think im gonna cross em with my gold butterflys and my opaqes im gettin from wild ok i got one more question is it better to cross with the female dt for the finnage traits or the males?? :huhwhat?
leafgirl115 - March 11, 2007 09:06 PM (GMT)
dito i was wondering the same thing!
(RC) - March 11, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Depending on who you talk to I've been told it's the male and other have told me it's the female . I personally don't think it matters, but One thing to really remember when picking your pairs is the female is at least as important as the male. To many people seem to get caught up picking the "amazing" male , but the female seems to be an after thought. She's at least as important as the male.
If your just talking passing on the DT trait then it makes zero difference. The DT trait is just single gene recessive.

Amen Rich! Quite frankly, I believe the female is more important. But that's just me. Sometimes, I just have to wonder. I've seen it go full circle. Did you ever have a pair with extraordinary finnage each and end up with deltas again? Have any ideas on why this would happen? I know one friend who's bred a great line of opaques have his go to round tails pratically. Is it just from in breeding you think?
