Does anyone have any experience with this guy? He has the colors I want to work with and he is a very nice guy(I started e-mailing him today asking about availability and he has responded very quickly and nicely).

So any feedback at all would be great!

Hopefully you had enough money to buy a pair. :lolo:

Mumusuki - March 3, 2007 12:50 AM (GMT)
LOL I just asked about the price. : )
I actually won $15 in science fair so far, so that will help. :)

I think it is about 45.00 to 65.00 per pair excluding shipping. ;)

I don't remember paying THAT much for a pair from him, but that was also 4 or so years ago. He is a VERY nice man to deal with, with VERY nice bettas. If you search around in his website you will know why.

You will not be disappointed.

LOL I hope they are pretty cheap. I asked for quotes on Turq marbles and royals.
He has been VERY nice to me in the e-mails. Now, I am just waiting on a price quote, and THAT will decide whether I get some from him or not.

Holy cow! Shipping is WAY too expensive for me($75 overnight and $45 two-day, which he says he doesn't support) and he is asking $35 a pair. Guess I won't be able to get bettas from him. :(

Did he mention way shipping was so high? It costs me about that much to have 6 pairs sent overnite and one pair is just over $40.00 overnite.

I think I remember him saying that he uses boxes that hold 12 bettas....
... and that he adds extras to fill in the spots <_< OH!!!.....

But I don't WANT that many bettas! LOL

I really just can't afford that much. :(

(RC) - March 3, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Tell him you only have room for the Bettas or buying and Ask him to fill the "extra" with something other then fish and see if he can cut the shipping costs.

^Good idea, but still, I don't want to pay overnight shipping, and he "doesn't support" 2 day.

(RC) - March 3, 2007 10:37 PM (GMT)
What does "not support" mean ? If he means he doesn't have a DOA guarantee if you use it That's pretty much the same for all breeders. This time of year I only use overnite shipping.

Well, here are some e-mails I have received from him:

"Josh, I checked with UPS mail system and they said it was $75 for next day delivery and two day delivery was $45. The problem being I do not support two delivery. I have been getting $35 for pairs of my bettas. I can relate to your concern with the prices of shipping."

When asked if he could ship in a smaller box:

"The problem Josh , is the box itself. It does not matter if next adventure is the delivery systems. Sometimes they take an extra day or two or three to get there. I hayou sent 3 lbs. of bettas and water they will still bill the weight as 9 lbs. The box I use will hold up to 12 bettas. The next box size I could get out of the box company in Florida just barely holds two and a heat pack really squeezes them in too much. "

"Josh, the box I use is a two piece Styrofoam form fitted 1 1/2 inch thick walled box that is then inserted into a cardboard shipping box. Nothing irritates me or anyone else than sending or receiving bettas that someone has spent over seven years working get frozen or fried in the heat. The ve had our dear post office lose a box for five days. This is the reason for the specialized Styrofoam box. The next problem is as I stated before the high cost of shipping and the new rules of shipping and mailing since 9/11. If you can find a better box or system, I am not too old to learn new facts. "

WOW that shipping cost puts it outa the ballpark!! woooo ouch! Panic

yeevia2006 - March 5, 2007 09:27 AM (GMT)
:lolo: If he is selling his trophies bettas, it will be up high and it is not $35.00 per pair.
Linda transhipper already charging alot but his one is :verysurprise ! LOL :OO
Do you think is it worth to buy or not just for the betta hobby sack. Up to you all to think about it. ^_^

(RC) - March 5, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
It might be cheaper to have 2 pair shipped from overseas w/ transhipper fees. I'm having 5 fish shipped overnight from virginia for $25.00 so you might want to look around.
