Well i shipped my first box ever of fish out this week all the way to oregon they arrived safe and sound express mail i was very proud of myself lol lol woootwooot!
i feel much better about shipping to a show now B)

Me too, I shipped out my first fish on Monday, and it arrived safe. ^_^
The only thing I was not happy about is that the female I was supposed to send got columnaris the night before she was supposed to be sent out, so I have to refund the buyer $18. :(

wow that sucks. I guess the US mail is o.k. I guess you just have to send it express instead of priority to make sure it gets there in time. It may cost more but it is worth it.

i also labed it fragile and dont expose to extreme temps but had nuthing about fish on there didnt want some moron shaking my box or something.

the labeling thing does not always work. Yeevs labeled the box he sent me "Live tropical Fish' and it still got the corner all banged up

No kidding! Sometimes I wonder just what those people at the post office do with those boxes.

I had a guy who works at the post office tell me that all the labeling on the sides never even gets looked at. If you want them to read something put it in red letters by the address! So, that's what I do. He's worked with the postal service for 30 years, I trust him.

so I just Shipped my first fish monday and it got there alive, Makes me feel better since I'm shipping another one out today, she is a turquise girl i bought form Julie waite, but then decide to just breed marbles, the good thing about buying quality stock is that you can resell it. :D i hope she gets there safe, But it makes me feel ggood to get a couple under my belt for future shipping like shows and stuff.
i live in Manhattan and i went to the main Post ofice so it would go out immediatley and I told them It was alive fish, and they Freaked out and were like can you send fish in the mail?, i was like you should Know the rules you work here, One of the supervisors even said no, then another one said its ok, I was like people do it everyday weirdos. :chair but she got there. I'm telling them its an orchid today when I send the other girl so mark perishbale and fragile on the label please. don't want to deal with stupid Post office nonsense. Its my B-day :hawaiibanana
