Title: Sterilizing Tank?

Haeun - February 28, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Anyone have any advise on sterilizing tanks?

I recently used my spawn tank as a hospital tank, cause it was an emergency and I had no other tanks. <_<
I need to get started on trying to get my pairs to spawn again, so I need to sterilize this tank.

I use bleach/water in my jars and aquariums even if there hasn't been a problem. Rinse well, then put in the sun.

Some may think this is extreme. Use it regularly at home as a disinfectant.

It's not extreme, I always clean with bleach water. I clean my containers with it and then soak them in a basin of water with chlorine remover in it. Works like a charm.

off the subject. yeah I am using a capful of bleach in dish water and letting my dishes soak over night before washing them to santize them. My little mouse friends got up into them. Bleach is a pretty good disinfectant , it will even kill hiv and hepatitis viruses( used to be a nurse that is how I know) on surfaces that is how potent it is. Make sure to rinse extremely well after sanitizing with it.
