:huhwhat?
I have one large male fighter PK and two female CTPKs. The male is about 1 year old (3 1/2 inches in length), the females are 1 year (3 inches) and the other about 6 months (2 inches). The girls seem interested in him... he shows red stripes on his cheeks everytime he sees the females. The breeding tank is "Western Style" - in a 10 gal filled up 5 inches with water and bannana leaves instead of IAL. he has built a very large bubble nest. They all have been pampered for two weeks. I know that the two older ones may be a tad old to breed, but that is not the issue here...
The issue is that the male has built a very large bubble nest, but everytime I put the ready females in there (seperately), he darts away from them and the girls end up chasing him for a long time... SHOULDN'T IT BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND? Would anyone know why or has experiensed this issue before? I want to breed the two larger couples because I want the "large traits".
I have 12 females and 5 male bettas at the time. I am going to stop trying to breed the ones I am talking about and wait another two weeks and try again then...
How long are you leaving them together ?
