Hi Robert. This is my 1/2 giant traditional plakat. What do you think of him? :)
I want to breed him to a super red plakat from dong since his super red will have bigger bins. :lolo:

:bonk yeevia, i don't quite understand what this folder is for... there are already forums for breeding, IBC questions and there is a critque folder, so i don't know what to talk about in this folder...

I make this section so Dr Robert will notice easily and tell us what to breed, worth to breed or not. What to look for and like check up. LOL :lolo:

Extremely nice raw wild plakat. Great foundation for the H1 class in the IBC. Fish has really nice Multi color Decent Irr Spread in the Caudal. Body is nice shaped for a traditional plakat. Strong looking fish!!! Strong wide dorsal fin. Dorsal could use a bit more red. Dorsal has no branching (this is a plus in my book!!). Anal fin is a good width!! Also no branching (also a plus in my book). Anal fin maintains the plakat point at the rear of the fin. Caudal is perfect for the traditional type but wrong for HM plakat lines. Ventrals are all redwith just I tiny tip of white!!!! This fish would dominate in the H1 Traditional plakat class. Would I breed this fish to make a HM line? NO! Would I breed this fish to make a show fish line? Yes!!!!! I rate this fish at a overall score for HMPK at 5. I rate this fish as a show plakat in IBC Standards a 9 (for H1)!
When you breed this fish let me know!! I have a line of traditional wild plakats that would go nicely with that fish and would be willing to both send you some and purchace some from you!!!

I believe the purpose of this section of the forum is for me to have a place to have my own area that people could post a pic and for me to point out the stron points and weak points. I actually love this part of the forum!!
:)
Please do not feel offended by anything I may say about your fish. I call them like I see them! I will never trash a fish without offering advice about how to fix the line!!
I wish some of the fish that were posted else where on the board would be posted here by the owners!! Lots of very nice fish!!!
Rob

WHAT? This is H1 class for plakat? I totally thought they were only for novice and not for open. :lolo: See. I really need you to help me to understand more about the classes too. :lolo:
Great to know that this plakat can be put into a competition. Since he is 1/2 giant big(or 2/3) so they are great size. Oh yeah, noway I want to make him into hmpk. He is a traditional plakat and I love the form very much. :lolo: Let me see if he will breed or not first. I am planning to breed him to dong's super red plakat. She has a beautiful form. I will try to find her picture later. :lolo:

could you please rate my trad pk :)

yeevia2006 - February 1, 2007 11:31 AM (GMT)
He is not here. He just been piss off by people who don't listen to what he said. Like he tell you not to breed and it is not good. But members don't listen and breed them. <_<
Yours I give 7.5 for right now. Usually the plakat gets adulthood, they looks prettier and stunning to get more points.
MObetta122 - February 2, 2007 08:44 AM (GMT)
yeah those are my juvies from last spawn but in 3 months they could be :Ohlalala :Ohlalala :WOU maybe 9.99's even lol :C

Yeevia, I don't understand why he got mad and left. This was a place to give his opinions on fish. It wasn't for him to decide what people should and shouldn't breed. It is up to the person who owns that fish, who knows what goals they are breeding toward to make a final decision. I would have appreciated his input, and I probably would have picked future stock to improve the faults he identified in my fish, but I wouldn't have trashed fish I paid a LOT of money to import/ship just because someone else doesn't like them. His critiques could/would have educated people enough so that their future fish were better, which would have improved their overall quality. There are people that think willy nilly mixing of colours to get something new is wrong. That is their opinion, and I respect their right to have an opinion as long as they respect mine. It's a shame this wonderful opportunity has been lost.

I agree. I would have loved to have my fish critiqued, good OR bad results. No matter what anyone else says, I still love them and paid money for them. :)
But hey, maybe we could convince RC to bring this board back.... he is a judge! :coverlaugh
pouhamu - February 2, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
We can always hope. I have an idea of the faults of my fish, but nothing "official". ;)
Mumusuki - February 3, 2007 02:40 AM (GMT)
LOL That is exactly as I feel. :)
yeevia2006 - February 3, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
Yeah. Mumusuki. Talk to RC to take over in here. Many people likes their bettas to be critique. ;)
Pouhamu, when people who really wants to critique their betta especially in here, they better listen to the expert from IBC or else please don't put it up in here for checking. That is why this section is strictly serious for ibc standard especially for competition. Example just like a doctor. Will you against the doctor what they said?
I do see members using this section too loosely like slaming the door if they don't like what they hear. I saw some bettas is up for him to critique and then something is been said it is not a good choice to breed or this or that, the members just said I don't care and I will breed them. Do you know what I mean? Rob didn't go to other section to posts and critique there. That is why this section is for ROB to help the serious betta breeder members who really wants his advice. Kind like a report what his opinion is and that is it. Respect his opinion or else don't put up in here for him to do the check point. Right? :)
That is all I can say. ^_^
Mumusuki - February 3, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
So if he says not to breed, you are telling us to not breed them? I mean, I respect his opinion and I won't back talk at all, but if I am strong on breeding the bettas I have critiqued really strongly, I will still breed them. I do, however, want to know how my bettas stand against IBC standards. :cat
yeevia2006 - February 3, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
You still missing my point mumu.
You can breed it if you want. You don't have to said back to him since you asking his opinion. ^_^
Mumusuki - February 3, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
LOL Yeah, that is what I meant.
I mean, all you asked was for his professional opinion. HE took the time to reply to you and you shouldn't put him down like that. Yeah, I got it. :D
yeevia2006 - February 3, 2007 03:26 AM (GMT)
Great. :)
Now you got it. Respect. :) ^_^

pouhamu - February 3, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
Yes, getting pissy when you asked for someone's opinion........... that's just rude. You know the saying if you can't take the heat. That being said, I don't think the critic should be rude either, which I don't beleive this man was/is.
Since we are comparing against the IBC standard where do we get fish? IBC says to buy from an IBC breeder but they have people advertised on their web page that I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole. I mean people who are known to cheat their buyers. All IBC says is oops we're just advertising space. Looking at my fish one of the most outstanding faults in both sexes are anals that are too long. In my females, I don't have enough branching and the very first rays aren't long enough to be a true halfmoon. I didn't realize those were issues when I was blinded by the colour &/or beauty of my first non VT fish. I look around and a lot of other people have the same faults that my fish have. So where do I find the fish to fix my problems when lots of fish out there have the same problems I have? Other than it taking forever, what's wrong with me breeding the fish I have, selecting fish that are better than their parents etc until I get to a point when I need an outcross and hoping by that point someone will sell me a decent fish to improve my lines?
yeevia2006 - February 3, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
LOL. Yeah. it is a pain in butt where to look for the right females so you can out cross. LOL :lolo: Usually those female are jumping high rocket price. LOL
Therefore, I guess is the best is going to ibc competition to get the females. :lolo: Maybe can talk to the ibc breeders if they have any. I had seen a lot of anal fin that is long. When I see those, I will not breed them and I just catagories as pet. It is also not easy to get the perfect one until you have to out cross them to the right female. :lolo:
