SandyMushCowgirl - February 15, 2007 01:49 PM (GMT)
Here's my new male from Cameofins... I love the heavy coloring on him. I got him and a sister and an extra sister. :o I was excited to see an extra in the box.. :D
I'll get pictures of the girls later. He's such an active fella.... Never sits still... :lolo:

 Thumbsup Oooh! He's pretty! He shimmers! Do you have a name for him yet?

nutty - February 15, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
Oops. I suppose Frosty Morning.

SandyMushCowgirl - February 15, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
Yeah, he sure is shimmery.. lol, yeah his name is Frosty Morning. I figure it fits since he's from her Frosted line.

nutty - February 15, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
Yep, makes sense. The name fits him, too. Where did you get him from?

SandyMushCowgirl - February 15, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it does fit him.. He's from Cameofins.

MObetta122 - February 15, 2007 07:47 PM (GMT)
Awsome lookin boy sandy who ya gonna breed him with ?? :Ohlalala

SandyMushCowgirl - February 15, 2007 07:56 PM (GMT)
Thanks... Probably one of the females that he came with. One I personally think has a better overall shape than the other and I like her color better, she's got less masking than her sister, but I don't really care.. :lolo: After that, I may spawn him with an opaque Trad. PK from my mini line. Somehow I'm going to get mini HMPKs. :lolo:

SandyMushCowgirl - February 15, 2007 11:27 PM (GMT)
Well, here's the girls.
My favorite of my new HMPK girls. This is the one I'd more than likely pair with Frosty Morning.

And here is Wild Blue. I couldn't think of a name that I haven't already used for a blueish betta.

nutty - February 20, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)

bettaqueen - March 1, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
both pretty fish. I just love frosty morning and what a cute name. I love how he sparkles

wildmagiclady - March 1, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
Debbie's fish rock don't they!

She does such a great job with them. I like the name too, very fitting.

Say, would you happen to be the person who has bought from me before? Your name sounds familiar.

bettaqueen - March 1, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
nope if you mean me. The only two I have are from Yeevs that he orginally got from Thailand

wildmagiclady - March 1, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Nope, I meant Sandy.

bettaqueen - March 1, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
that is what I figured. just making sure

wildmagiclady - March 1, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
Okey dokey.

SandyMushCowgirl - March 2, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
Thanks everyone....
Yeah, Debbie's fish are awesome.
WML, I don't think I have ever bought any bettas from you, yet. :D

Well, Frosty Morning and the green female spawned today. Although they both ate the eggs. :chair :chair :chair I'll probably re-spawn them in a few weeks.

nutty - March 2, 2007 12:55 PM (GMT)
Well, that's a half a step better then them just ripping each other to shreads with no spawning! Keep us updated!

SandyMushCowgirl - March 2, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
That's sure true.... I'll keep y'all updated. :)

wildmagiclady - March 2, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
Darn it! I hate when that happens!

yeevia2006 - March 5, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
Same as my grizzle pair too. Hahaha :OO

SandyMushCowgirl - March 7, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Well, the good news is.... I left the female in the tank for a couple more days and they spawned again. The eggs that they got to did end up getting eaten and some got put up in the nest before they got eaten. But I was able to salvage some... Around 20, several ended up with fungus, but there's about 14 that at least seven have hatched so far and the rest are starting to hatch. So we'll see how this goes.. :D
Also Frost has a lot of blue on him now. I'll get pictures sometime soon. :lolo:

bettaqueen - March 7, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
wow congrats Sandy you proud mama :D

SandyMushCowgirl - March 8, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Thanks bettaqueen.. Yes, I am very proud.. :) They've all hatched out, so now's the hard part keeping them alive until they are free-swimming, from then on they ought to be alright.. I think tomorrow I'm going to put them in my photo tank in a ten gallon. Maybe I can get another pair to spawn here in the next couple days so they'll have other fry to grow up with. But we'll see...

bigphunny - March 8, 2007 07:03 AM (GMT)
Frosty Morning is cool a Betta, what colors are you hoping to get out of the spawn?

Mumusuki - March 8, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
Oo, I can't wait to see his new pictures!

Congratulations on the spawn!!

SandyMushCowgirl - March 8, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
Thanks y'all. :D
bigphunny, I'm not sure what colors exactly I'm looking for. I'd love for some greens, like green marbles. But I think greens would be too much to hope for. Turquoise is pretty much what I'd expect to see and maybe some blues. But I'll just have to wait and see what I get. :)
So far all 14 are still alive and from what I can tell are doing well. I'm planning to pick up some liqufry this afternoon for them as my mom has planned a quick trip to OH this weekend and hatching out bbs and getting one of my brothers to feed the fry bbs while I'm gone would be WAY too much to hope for. So hopefully they would be able to manage one little drop of liqufry once or twice a day.

wildmagiclady - March 8, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
Congrats on the fry. I know Debbie will be happy to hear it when she returns from her vacation.

SandyMushCowgirl - March 12, 2007 01:14 AM (GMT)
Thanks WML.. I'm sure she will...

Well, the fry are still alive... I did NOT have my brothers feed them while I was gone as I didn't trust them not to kill the babies. I started them on bbs almost as soon as I got home.

wildmagiclady - March 12, 2007 02:07 PM (GMT)
By the way. Your avatar, is that a fish you own? He's so beautiful. Do you still have him?

SandyMushCowgirl - March 12, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
Thanks... Yes, I do still have him. That picture is of my male Silver Penny. He ended up with a good bit of black mixed on him, and now that's fading a little.

wildmagiclady - March 12, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Where did you get him? What's his genetic background? I just love the color.

SandyMushCowgirl - March 13, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
Actually, I bred him myself. As for genetic background...

Date of spawn: 7/20/06

This is the spawn that he came from. The pair that I started with was the Opaque and Green/Red STPKs. Synirr bred the Copper and Cambodian pair and I got my original pair from her. The Orange STPKs, I believe were bred by someone called Wuvmybetta on another forum, not to be confused with Luvmybetta. And I believe that pair came from bettysplendens. That's pretty much all I know about his linage. :D
