That is such a great way to keep your bettas. So much more room than beanies and what a lot of other breeders keep their juvies in.
East Coast Bettas - June 25, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
Great setup! Now I hope you limit their television watching there! Too much is not good for little bettas! :OO

A good way to save space :D

Where do you buy your containers from? I am currently using some nice tubs that are the more disposable kind. lol. And am trying to decide for sure what I want to keep them in long term. I like that those containers are nestable when not in use. That would be a big plus!

Hi Carrie, I got them in Walmart, big lots, and family dollar store. The brand is sterling and they called them showof boxes. The one gallon (CD storage) is around 2.00 each. The 4 gallon is around 4.00 each. I still have them and they are great for bettas. ;)
Forever-Mango - July 5, 2006 03:29 AM (GMT)
You have one betta in each? Or they used for breeding?
yeevia2006 - July 5, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
I got about 70 4 gallon tupperwares. I just need 5 to 7 only when I breed. ;)
Badluckdragon - July 5, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
:D Thanks, we several Big Lots around here, and of course there is WalMart everywhere now.
Carrie
PS. The containers and the way you are using them looks great!
yeevia2006 - July 5, 2006 05:30 AM (GMT)
Carrie. Oh yes. You just stack them up and save alot of space actually. They looks good too. I am thinking about using them to do barrack too.
See how I am going to do those. It will be my second project. ^_^

Hmmm...did you accidentally piss in some of the containers while doing water changes Frankie? :lolo: Just kidding mate. What's the average temperature over in Kansas that you're able to keep those bettas outdoors? Your setup is simple yet neat and effective :D.
yeevia2006 - July 6, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
Temperature in Kansas for the summer is usually high 95 and low should be in 75. Anyway, they all in shaddy area so it won't effected them. ;)
When the fall coming, all of them will be in my ceramic studio. :)

I went to WM today and for some weird reason decided to buy two of their largest ShowOffs container. I check online for the measurements and while calculating the volume, it came out to be 7.1789 completely full.
The dimensions are 14 1/4"L x 9 1/2"W x 12 1/4"H and they cost me $3.94 in Southern California (you know how expensive things are here....). I'll most likely use them as a shrimp breeder setups or grow some more moss :D
yeevia2006 - July 13, 2006 06:45 AM (GMT)
I have using those to fill up 10 gallon tank and it needs 2 1/2 full water tupperware to filled up those tank. ^_^
JBN - July 13, 2006 07:53 AM (GMT)
ah i guess the top and the thickness of the walls affect the volume. I'll try measuring it sometime soon :P.

Walmart has some other great tubs for raising fry in. I raised one spawn in two 20-ish gallon plastic tubs ^_^
Akamaru-Enko - December 20, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I must agree with you because wal-mart has many good stuff for fish.
Especially the one and only Betta fish.

Hi Sammyblot, I will take some pictures to show you what kind of bits I am using later tonight. Those plastic container is easy to drill because they are soft type. So far, I still love this 1 gallon plastic containers for my betta. They are the best and never fail me. ^_^ I like it because you can stack them up. ;)
I love this bananas dancing too. Aren't they are so hyper? LOL
