What would you guys recommend as being an appropriate size tank to spawn in. In the past I have had success breeding in a 10 gallon filled only 5" with water, a 5 gallon filled 1/2 way and a 2 1/2 gallon filled a little more then half way. Are all of these ok? is on better then the other? thanks bunches!!

All three are great but the smaller the space, the faster the female with succumb to the male's seduction and breed. I don't have standard 2 or 5 gallon tanks so I divide my 10g 1/2 or 1/3 like Yeevia does.

I really recommend a 10 gallon filled to just a few inches, because then there is no hassle of having to move the babies to a bigger tank for a while. Once they hatch, just add water until the tank is full, and it's usually good for a while.

As for the breeding part itself, like AiWen said, it's good to have smaller space, so what I do is cut up a piece of plastic mesh and use that to divide the tank. I put one on each side at first, for a day or so, and then let one go over to the other side later.

Any size tanks you mentioned works well. You just feels which one are more success in breeding and raising for yourself. ^_^ I like 5 gallon tank. I like tupperware. And I like 10 gallon tank. It just depends what I have available. ^_^
