Title: Non metallic Greeen

Hi,
The colour I love most and want to work with is green. Not metallic or marble just "plain" green. ^_^ Thankfully, I am slightly more "educated" than when I first bought fish and I'm waiting for something nice. Here's my question..... If you want to work with green is it better to just get green or get green and work with a Turq line to breed into? Who are good breeders of green, or any of the pure irids lines? I would "settle" for Turq. :lolo:
:Thank:

I think (RC) said he was working with a pure green line.... I am not sure if I remember correctly though.

If your working for a true green your better off working a straight green line. The problem with most greens is the turq color to the green. You have to be sure to get non-metallic fish to start which can be a real problem now. I should have some available, but not until late summer.

RC,
Do you have a webpage? Would you mind, if you have the time, sharing a pictorial progression of your breeding?

I had a web site at one time, but don't any longer. I also don't have many pictures of any of my fish. Someplace around here I have a hardrive with pictures on it, but I have NO idea where. I always forgot to take picture when I should. My plans are to totally document everything now, but if I follw thru with it is yet to be seen.

Oh yeah. A nice digital camera won't hurt. You can keep taking pictures any moment and documents all your bettas. It is fun. I got a bunch of pictures in my iphoto now since I started. ;)

Should bettysplendens.com come up anytime soon, there's a "bright green" strain there, documented as coming from a copper/TQ cross. But these would be pretty much metalic, no? So not exactly what you asked for. (Isn't turquoise metalic anyway?)
