bettaqueen - January 31, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Wow those are absolutely gorgous. I wants too

Haeun - January 31, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
HEEEEEEY YEEVS! You ruined it! I was going to keep it low and then steal them away at the end.

Actually, I doubt that I will actually get them in the end, because you can't spawn them and get CTPK spawn, I believe. Or am I wrong?

yeevia2006 - January 31, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
They are in aquabid now. I know this breeder and she is a very fun, sweet, nice lady. I bought a RED HM pairs form her recently and they are very active and beautiful.
She been doing cthmpk a while and she keep produce them in her home farm.
If you breed them, you should get some. The female and male tails look fantastic to cross again. You will get plakat and crowntail too. ;)
I would invest some money on it to breed. But I got too much in my hand now. I am grounded from aquabid! :lolo:

yeevia2006 - January 31, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Who ever want to invest, get this two pairs together. ;)

jaded12 - January 31, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
I am soooo tempted!! I've put them on my watch list

AiWen - January 31, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
I would get it but I'm trying to create my own and transhipping fees is too much -_-

yeevia2006 - February 1, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
AiWen. Look at the form of these CTPK. This is the type of female you going to cross again in your batch next time. Get the smallest tail. ;)
Oh yeah, I have talked to vinita long time ago about breeding this type of ctpk like what kind to pick to cross. ^_^

bettas4me - February 1, 2007 01:38 AM (GMT)
She's got 6 CTPKs listed.

I'm just gonna do like AiWen and produce my own. I bought one pair that turned out to be bogus. I'll just breed my own then I'll know what I've got!!

yeevia2006 - February 1, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Vinita ctpk is great. She been doing it for a while now. Usually she do fancy color. Last time she got yellow black white fancy one too. Nice. ;)
I also wonder where all her giant hmpk now. She do keep breeding those. ^_^

bettas4me - February 1, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've heard nothing but good about her fish.

MObetta122 - February 1, 2007 08:38 AM (GMT)
how come if you cross 2 hmpk ct's together ya wont get many ????????????????? wow thats a bummer what will ya get mostly cause i really wanted these fish but that puts a damper on things in my eye will ya get a decent percentage at least??

MObetta122 - February 1, 2007 08:42 AM (GMT)
Hey yeevia can ya pm me and kinda give me the low down on breeding the hmpk ct's cause i really want to breed them and im pretty sure you alll lost me in the above post.

thanks marty

yeevia2006 - February 1, 2007 11:25 AM (GMT)
If you can breed the above pair, I am very sure you will get a small percentages of ctpk. Then keep using the shortest fins female and male and keep cross again. You need to breed a lot of babies so you can choose potential babies.
I never breed ctpk and i just heard from breeders. I think you can chat with Vinita (nicebettas) asking more informations about the pair above since those are her bettas. She will tells you what the out comes is. She is a very nice lady to chat with and love to laugh. :P
So far I don't think anyone did managed breeding CTPK. They try but I heard nothing. Also I seldom see any CTPK selling in aquabid except Vinita nicebettas. She is the only one who do that. ^_^
For me, I want to concentrating my fancy hmpk, blue line hm and my red hm.

SandyMushCowgirl - February 2, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
Oh, they are gorgeous.... Nice colors...

yeevia2006 - February 2, 2007 06:42 AM (GMT)

SandyMushCowgirl - February 2, 2007 07:12 AM (GMT)

yeevia2006 - February 2, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
What did you got? 52 for a pair must be :Ohlalala .

MObetta122 - February 2, 2007 08:38 AM (GMT)
its very tempting but im gonna pass on them im holding out i got my tax return ohh ohhhhhhhhhhh :LOL2

SandyMushCowgirl - February 2, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)

They sure are tempting though..

yeevia2006 - February 4, 2007 09:48 AM (GMT)

yeevia2006 - February 5, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
Here is the information from vinita to me regarding breeding cthmpk. A lot of work and culling as I see. :welcome

Ya-only 2 f hmpk+ ct you will got them but sometime 2 f you get a little crown..understand?3 f is good.

its easy to get them...you should be find out the good female of ct and metallic hmpk male..ok?:)

you take care too,

ta.

Haeun - February 6, 2007 10:12 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, so am I understanding it right?

F2 generation is very iffy, with a lot of longfinned CT mixed in with CTHMPK. So you have to do a lot of culling.

But F3, it starts to stabilize? Or does F3 have same problem as F2?

yeevia2006 - February 6, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
F1 is not good so choose wisely to continue breeding. F2 you got everything even hmpk, ct or cthmpk. F3 more stable with cthmpk. That is what vinita said. ^_^

bettas4me - February 6, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
Maybe that's the deal on the CTHMPKs I bought. Maybe they're F2, the auction pic looked like CTHMPK, but later looks more like just CT.

I'm going to breed them regardless, but maybe the next generation will be CTHMPK. ?? I Hope!!

yeevia2006 - February 6, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
Ohh. You should breed them and see. Did you ask the breeder is the betta was cross over from plakat? Or is he listed as ctpk? After the batch, you will need to sellect the pair with shortest tail CTPK to breed again. :lolo:

bettas4me - February 6, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
Candycat21 bought them on eBay from a seller/breeder that listed them as CTPK. I didn't see the auction until too late, so I watched Candycat21's auctions until she put them up for auction and bought them from her. (she is not at fault as she only sold them as what she bought them as)

I just saw the post above where she said that F2 had a lot of longfin CTs, so I'm hoping that is the case with me, that I just got a long finned CTPK and the next generaton will give me the short finned CTPKs.
