You would most likely get veiltails which crowning. Some may have bigger spreads than others but since HM is merely a phenotype, you won't be getting HMCTs in the first generation(F1). If you cross the fry back with eachother, you may get some deltas or super deltas in F2 and by F3 or F4, they should be HMCTs. ;)

A crowntail to anything not a crown tail will give you a combtails. Crossing the F1 should give you some crowntails

I think I have to dig back my hm cross crowntail then. :lolo:

Why would Hm to CT give VT?
Both CT and HM are long fin. CT are HM/SD that have ben bred for reduced webbing. I am not knocking you, I am just trying to understand where you are coming from.
I would have thought SD deltas, to MAYBE HM if the CT were a half sun, with combing myself.
BUT I concide that I haven't studied CTs extensively.

Crowntail in recessive, so a CTxHM would result in F1 all HM, and if you took sibs and bred them you would get 50% HM and 50% CT. Breeding CT to HM doesn't get you VT, unfortunatly you were misinformed! If you have a CT that doesn't have the 180 spread, when crossed with a long finned fish, it will be more noticeable in the spawn becatse the crowntailing kinda distracts you on the true finnage spread.

And CTxCT is 100% CT.
