Nicknames: Calden is the only name he accepts, but many are known to have mockingly called him ‘prince’ or ‘highness’ . Oh, and it’s pronounced CALL-DEN, alright?

Appearance: Let us begin to describe the enigma that is Calden from the beginning, his nose, to the end, his tail. As all canine noses are, Calden’s is wet and leathery and generally black. I say generally because it depends on if he’s decided to stick it in something that day or not (dirt, a hole in a tree, a porcupine, ect.) Yes, generally it is a typical wolf nose, only it’s better because it’s his nose, and everything belonging to him is naturally better. The famous nose is attached to a long and slender muzzle that is sometimes said to be a little bit feminine. His entire facial structure is very elegant and fox-like, almost delicate if it weren’t for the way he presents himself and the way he carries his body, which continues the slim and graceful trend. Swan-like in it’s quality his neck is arched and always erect to hold his regal head high in the air, full of pride and an unhealthily large dose of arrogance. Calden’s shoulder blades are quite prominent as is common for his breed and they are attached to extra thin and extra long legs with dainty little paws at the end. From here his body swoops elegantly to his round haunches and long back legs, then tapers to his long and bushy tail, his pride and joy. Only one as self-absorbed as Calden could find pride in having an uncommonly bushy tail.
Now, onto his markings. Because of his pure breeding he sports only the most dignified and outstanding of Maned Wolf markings. On all four legs there are nice black stockings that come all the way up to the joint and fade out properly into the nice burnt umber of his main coat. According to Calden himself his markings are the only ones to maintain they’re perfect coal color all the way until the fading point. His muzzle is dusted in the same pit ch black as his legs and the same hue shows up again in a perfect stripe from the back of his ears to the ends of his shoulder blades. The only other pigment he has in his fur is the trademark snow white that appears on the entire underside of his body (yes even on the inside of his legs until you get to the part where the back shows up), on the insides of his ears, right beneath his chin, on a patch on his chest, and lastly on the end of his tail. Nothing really makes Calden stand out from all the other Manned wolves except for his ‘perfection’ and the pads of his back right paw, his one flaw. Instead of being black, it’s pink, just like his tongue. He never lets anybody see that paw pad, ever.
At last we reach Calden’s boring, I mean, perfect eyes. They are lined in thick, black lids, and dusted with a small fringe of black eyelashes. Plain in shape and in color they are no more remarkable than the sand in the upper layer of the Niche. Nothing is too incredibly fantastic about muddy brown eyes. Yet, perhaps the only visible defining feature he possesses is held in his left eye. He has what is identified as a ‘star’, a small burst of color that sometimes appears. His is very small and to the top right of his iris. It’s a very interesting thing, that he has a unique mark in his eye, golden in color. However, unlike his other defining feature, which he hides, Calden is very proud of his star and makes a big deal about it. This is his mark and it just proves that he is so much better than the rest of the world. But there is something else in his eyes. They are faded and milky and there are faint scars on them both. He is completely blind in both eyes. A tragic moment in his history blinded him late in life and now he banished to the world of darkness forever.
Future appearance: In the future I would like to add onto Calden a few unusual and super awesome things from Sarabi! They are the following
1. Darker red cheetah pattern to his red fur, it’ll be pretty toned down though so it’s not like BAM cheetah-wolf, but it’ll still look cool.
2. A row of black hoop earrings on his right ear all the way from the tip to the base
3. Bandage wrapped up his back right leg.
4. Black long strip of cloth wrapped around his eyes head like a blindfold, the cloth should be long enough to hang over his shoulder with a handkerchief edge that’s torn up.
Personality:
Here we are, to the meat of the subject, and the most annoying part at that. As a whole Calden is just plain annoying, really. He has hardly one redeeming feature as sad as that is to say and he gets on anybody’s nerves in matter of moments. We’ll start with what makes up nearly half of his personality: arrogance, pride, and all the other things that go with them. Somehow, even with all that he’s been through, Calden has turned out to be the most vain creature to ever walk the earth. All he ever thinks about is himself. He’s the greatest, he’s the handsomest, he’s god’s gift to earth. Really, you would think one wolf could only think of so much to say about themselves but he just keeps coming with how fantastic he is. Calden’s ego is probably at least twice the size of him if not more. It’s almost as if you get two wolves with him, you get well, him and then you get his ego. So basically, what you get is two tons of annoying, oh joy. If you ever want to get rid of somebody fast, just go catch Calden and have him talk him or her to death. It makes you wonder if he ever has any feeling for any creature other than himself. The answer? Well, you’ll have to find out that later.
The second large part of Calden is his OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. Everything must go in order for him. Numbers must be counted forward, never back, you must go from back to front not front to back, he is completely obsessed with going in the proper order for things. Also, every number of steps he take must be even. He counts and if he doesn’t end up on an even number he will take another step. He doesn’t have any rational reasoning for this but he has to do it or something bad will happen. Now being a generally intelligent character he knows that this is highly irrational and that nothing bad really will happen but he can’t bring himself to ever test the theory. Lastly, before he sleeps, he has to circle around not three times, but four. It’s imperative and he always does it even if it’s below zero outside and snowing and he’s ready to collaps from exhaustion.
The third main part of Calden is his blindness. It does not really phase him as a handicap, but he gets constantly annoyed with it, which is why he’s generally in a cranky mood to begin with. Vengeance flares in his soul for the wolf who did this to him and he has sworn on Emileigh’s grave that he will get back at him. Over the year or two that he has been sightless, Calden has grown used to it and can get around without running into things or tripping over them. His ears are extremely large like all Maned wolves ears and they help him immensely in his every day life. He has also developed a sensitivity to sound waves and can turn in the direction of anything moving because all movement makes a sound no matter how minuscule and that in turn creates a wave. There are times still when he is caught off guard however and one must be careful not to anger him.
What is left of his personality is made up of his mean streak, which is easily evoked, his happy side, which is hardly ever seen, his intelligence, which he uses as much as possible for being him, and whatever else happens to be lying around. There are so many different sides to Calden that I couldn’t being to describe them all, so you will have to find them out for yourself. But beware, when you hear his smooth and genteel voice coming around for you’re most likely in for a long and boring conversation about his utmost favorite topic: himself.
Fatal Flaw(s): Calden is a flaw in himself, as mentioned before. The main ones are:
Vanity, arrogance and pride
Easily flared temper
Knack for being extremely annoying
Cowardice in times of trouble
