Cyber walked out of one of the many tunnels towards the lake, taking each step with no haste at all. Many times he had been to the lake, and it seemed the most pleasing place to himself. Heaven's Eyeglass annoyed him, the tunnels were boring, and the large room was too crowded for his liking most of the time. Usually not many were at the lake, and it seemed...calming in a way. Reaching the edge of the water he lied down, letting it lap at his paws as he stared across it. Oh yes, many times he had almost been sucked in to diving into the water, but he had resisted, and now just liked to watch it.

A yawn was given as he tore his eyes away from the water, looking back at where he had come from and at the other tunnels. It was quite annoying, being down here, but he didn't feel like going up. His had gotten use to the dark and damp places, and didn't know if he wanted to venture upwards just yet. He called the tunnels his home, and no longer cared for the land above. Cyber didn't think it could be that much better then down here though, for as he had watched others dig up, an enormous light had poured down when they had reached the surface, something blistering and great. He didn't like the heat that much anyways...

Turning back towards the water he pulled his paws out and tucked them underneath himself, watching his reflection be distorted by a slight wave, "Reflections...a mere image of yourself. And yet...It seems so different..." He muttered to himself, taking his paws out from under him and looking down at the black bird placed on his right paw. Forever he had tried to figure out if it meant something, if somehow this bird was suppose to tell him something. He knew every one had a symbol of some sort, but he thought that possibly...just possibly, that it was suppose to mean something. He had created a theory that every symbol had a meaning to it, the thing was that no one knew, so they never tried to look in to what their symbol meant.

Rolling this idea around in his head once more he just shrugged and moved it from his mind, yawning once more and then gazing back out across the water. Water was a mystical thing...how it moved, how it could drench one without any effort, how it provided so many the chance to live. Yes, it was a lovely thing, but also a dreaded thing. One could drown in it, or choke on it...Ha! Those would be horrible ways to die. I would never want to drown, no, that would be horrible...Loosing air, practically choking, yes...It would be horrible. He thought to himself, nodding.

The large male stood up and shook off, turning to the right and walking by the water's edge. He was in the mood for conversation...maybe he could find someone at the lake today. If not, Heaven's Eyeglass would be next. Usually there were one or two fools there staring up at the ceiling and wishing that they could be back above. Silly fools. He thought to himself, shaking his head now. Being above would be so different...

Making her way from the aboveground had proved to be quite the excruciating task. Jai’s right shoulder and leg were still bleeding from her previous attack, causing her to limp away slowly from the oasis. Along her way she had stopped to rest somewhere safely for the night. Yet her sleep had been disturbing, so upon waking in the morning Jai did not feel the least bit of relief from her recent battle. Deep, bleeding claw marks stretched straight down her right leg; a gash was in her shoulder where a bit of her fur had been bitten and ripped out; her breathing was slightly raspy from Vienna Ri’s tight grip on her neck. This strong scent of blood that hung like a mist about her made the female quite easy to spot.

Jai’s experiences aboveground had so far been unsatisfying, so she had decided to revert back to the tunnels for a while. She remembered the day she had heard the howls of the escape. Somehow, as she lay bundled in a corner of the tunnels with her own thoughts threatening her, the noise had managed to pierce her senses. A feeling of remorse came over her as she watched the other wolves dig toward the surface. Jai had not wanted to leave.

Going back to the place she had once called home, the ebony female traveled down the entrance to the tunnels. She required some time for her wounds to heal and the tunnels proved best for that. The female winced as she was forced to crawl downward, her abrasions sensitive to the movement. It proved to be quite the struggle. Her physique came to the floor with a ridiculous stumble. The dirt around her had clouded into a brown mist as it was shuffled about. Jai growled to herself for her lack of elegance, sneezing due to the dust. She had not been in the tunnels since the final day of their imprisonment. Looking about with her now faded yellow eyes, she realized just how dark and dreary they truly were. Yet part of her was glad to be home.

The female proceeded to limp down one of the tunnel pathways. She took in a wheezy breath, recalling her abhorrence for Vienna Ri and the harm she had placed on Jai’s neck. One day she would find her again and settle their feud properly, yet for now Jai needed to rest and prepare for that day. Before her lay a path of darkness, gradually growing less illuminated as she moved away from the entrance. Two years spent in the tunnels equipped her with the ability not to fear the dark. She had learned to navigate in the black blindness.

It had taken her quite a while due to her slow speed, yet Jai eventually began to approach a lighted dome in the tunnels. She scented water. It was ironic that she was approaching the underground lake just after she had departed from the oasis. Hopefully she would not have to fight anyone here. Jai was not physically up for it and was in no state for doing so. Soon scenting the other wolf, this slight concern came into her mind. The ebony female only hoped that this wolf could respect her so that no fight would be necessary. Upon entering the area, she heard the other wolf speaking to himself, “Reflections…a mere image of yourself. And yet…It seems so different…” Jai stopped for a moment upon hearing this. Straightening her posture and holding her head up high, she approached the lake from behind the male. She stood a few meters away from him as she lowered her neck to lap up the water. Right above the lake was the oasis, the oasis she had tumbled into like a miserable rag and yet still stood ferociously with teeth glimmering with sheer hate, her alarmingly skeletal body even more frightening. Somehow she felt protected and peaceful being underneath the oasis.

Jai pretended as if she had not even noticed the male. She continued to lap at the water whilst she stood tall, making it obvious that she enjoyed flaunting herself and was proud of her appearance. Jai had once been beautiful. She was breathtaking, her coat sleek, thick, and glossy with her eyes a piercing gold. Yet now she was extremely malnourished and thin. Her fur had thinned and become gray in areas, and her eyes had faded to a pale yellow. The female was repulsive. It was a surprise that she was still alive, looking like that, nonetheless acting as if she was royalty. Jai was still so young yet she looked so old. Her appearance was the result of being trapped in the tunnels for those few years along with her emotional state. She had entered a beauty, and exited a monster. However, Jai was unaware of this, her own reflection in the lake mutating into what she once looked like. Jai imagined herself from this stranger’s point of view. She must have looked so gorgeous, her figure tall and beautiful beside the clean lake. He was probably so awestruck by her. “It doesn’t matter what that bitch Vienna said to me, she’s just jealous. She just couldn’t stand the fact that my beauty hadn’t been altered by the tunnels at all,” she thought to herself, chuckling slightly.

The large male had stopped once more, staring at the water, his ears pinned to his cranium. Nothing seemed right anymore, it was all so very strange...Not long after he had stopped he heard something, though failed to move or give notice that he had heard it. A black figure appeared a few meters away from him and began to lap up the water, making him turn his attention to it. Pale yellow eyes were quite shocked to see what he saw.

Never before had Cyber seen anything so...messed up. She was scrawny and looked old, but he could tell that she was not too old, around the age of himself actually. Cyber's first thought was to laugh, throw his head back and give out a belting laugh, relishing in the fact that another was hurt and in his way. He opened his muzzle for a second, thinking about it, but then closed it and continued to go on watching her.

She was indeed a sight, and probably was once a very beautiful wolf. After a while of contemplating his moods over in his head he took the chance of speaking in a not-so-rude way, "Excuse me, miss." He started off, stopping and frowning some, "Can I help you?" Yes, that was fair enough. Not too kind for his own liking, and not too rude so as to make her made. Just a simple 'can I help you'. Yes, it is perfect, I do believe. It's not like she'll stick around for long anyways. Probably just came to drink and will soon leave. Unlike myself, who will probably stick around here for a while.

Cyber sat down finally, perking up his ears and still concentrating on the stranger. Something about her intrigued him, fascinated him. His tail swayed back and forth behind him, getting touched slightly by the water everytime it went one way, and then collected dirt whilst in went the other way. As he sat there he began to wonder what he looked like to others. He had kept up his food source, eating normally lately, though mostly fish, and he had tried to keep himself clean. But obviously the lack of sunlight had failed his glossy coat, making it much dimmer than it had been when he had appeared in The Niche. His eyes didn't hold the same shine either, more like a boring and dull gleam.

Truly, he didn't care anymore. No one cared what anyone looked like, for most stuck down here had lost their glow and sheen, and didn't care anymore about themselves. It had been a while since he had cared how clean his fur was or what others thought about him. Now was not an exception. As he rolled all of this over in his mind though, he continued to watch the ebony stranger. Obviously she didn't care about her appearance at all...And she had probably recently been in a fight, from the looks of it. Quite odd, if someone were to ask him, but no one did, so he didn't speak it.
