Thanks, looks like the guy won again so he is still in it.

Looks like Kumar needs one more win to pull Dustin back in.

Kumar lost...Dustin in finished.

I don't care for that format at all. He loses a very close match, then his opponent wins the next two, and still no wrestle back for Dustin. This is the world championships. They should have round robin pools or at least double elimination.

International wrestling cannot figure out how to run a wrestling tournament. Aside from the one-size-fits all approach (the rule that each weight MUST be wrestled in one day, which limits the number of participants), the lack of a decent consolation system is unforgivable. It isn't that there aren't good models, such as our double-elimination, available. The wrestlers prepare for months and thousands of dollars are spent to send them to a tournament (which is a much bigger deal for most other countries), and some of them wrestle one match of four-minutes duration. Total garbage.

I agree with you however it does accomplish their primary goal...crowning world champions. Sort of like the MSHSL not having true wrestle-backs in our state tournament...still crowns the state champion.

Again, I agree that every athlete should have the opportunity to wrestle back for a bronze.
