Title: USA wrestlers competing on Can. University Teams
Description: Why don't US men go North of the boarder

I posted this on the freestyle, but its actually college related and probably more read.

Ok, wanted to know why I don't hear about any men going North to wrestle freestyle on a Canadian University men’s team?

They can provide athletic scholarships just like USA College and universities and they also have national championships. Not sure about the level of competition though and how it compares to the USA.

Just curious if this has ever been discussed or if anyone out there could tell me more.

Ali, you out there? I know you wrestle on the girl’s team in Can., but can you share any similar USA men stories of someone going North of the boarder?

130 views and no feed back yet? wow!

Maybe I'm not the only one in the dark regarding this.

The only one I know of was Phill Bastings of Grand Forks a few years ago wrestled for some one in Canada. Don't remember all the details.

He wrestled for one year for Regina (they wrestled freestyle, but would always come to the bison open)

I believe he had some legal problems here in the states that didn't allow him to continue to wrestle for Regina
