Dylan Ness, what weight is this kid planning on wrestling for the gophers? Because i know he has verbally committed, And the kids good I just see that Mason and Deitchler are at 49/57. And I believe I read somewhere that he's going 49/57. And to me he seems too tall for 41. Thoughts?

That sounds right to me. I think Mason will move to 157 next year with Deitchler going 165 once Schlatter is gone. 149 would be a great fit for Dylan although the Gophers might need someone while he redshirts, a year or two even so the pressure isn't on to step in as a redshirt freshman.

He has a different build than his brother for sure, who knows how the college weight system will treat his body, who knows with his height you could see a 165-174 pounder. Mike Thorn sure got huge over his redshirt year so you never know they can sure build him up if they wanted to.

Yep, Just keep wrestling and don't worry about the weight. I could see him growing into 165 or higher. Look at Jay Borschel from Iowa, I could be wrong but I think he was still around 125 his junior year in high school.

Wasn't T. Saf around 130 his senior year? He ended up being pretty solid at 157/165

T Saf was 112 his junior year and 130 his senior year. I think he probably should have been 149 to 157 for his career but he took one for the team I thought and went even higher. By his senior year in college I thought he was definitely a 157.
Dylan could do the same thing but... I think with Mason at 157 and Deitchler at 165 he won't be pressed to move up unless Deitchler takes an Olympic redshirt along the way and they need Dylan that high. I would think they have someone at the 165 range that could fill in leavinf Dylan free to be 149 however.

As I think about it now, it was probably his sophmore year that he was in the same weight class as Mack Reiter (as a senior).

During the MN vs IOWA dual on the big ten network it was said Jay Borshell was a 4x state champion at 103,130,152 and 171

I'm guessing that he'll be at 145 for HS this year and might have to cut a little bit to make that. So 149/157 sounds about right for the U, though with his height he might end up at 165.
