Wow, you watch drama at a amazing fast rate. I read you were just going to check out Hana Yori Dango in about June, and you've already seen 1 and 2.

Lol, the funniest story I had associated with HYD, was when I first read the synopsis prior to checking out Part 2 - I realise the storyline, the 4 guys group = F4 who gives out red ticket etc, and the new girl at the private school...ehhhh...my mind thought ''so familiar'..it's sounds like the story of ...OMG! F4! It's Meteor Garden'. LOL, I've watched Taiwan's version of HYD and all, knowing that it was based on a J manga...but as I never really watched anything beside Hong Kong series a a rare chance some Taiwan ones (and Tk's J dramas), I had no idea, that the talked about HYD was actually the F4 one.

Duuno, the Domanji character guy annoyed me too much, so I didn't watch it the series (again). And although I didn't - but seeing pics, as ppl mentioned how Shun Oguri's hair is better as blonde. I say I like him better with black hair (as Hana Kimi).

Ahh..Death Note. I've never read the manga or known much about it. Just saw the movie at a friends's house and borrowed it as there was always much hype about it. It was a special edition which had the 2 parts. The movie is pretty good. And quick pick-up in the storyline and everything in few hours sitting.

It's Light Vs L. I'm sided with L.
Although I'm not really rushing out to watch 'L-Change The World'. I think I enjoyed watching the investigations and the wit battling, so the character L needs a good rival, like Light was.

I only started to recognsie Erika Toda (And her name) as the girl in Nobuta Produce + lately from Death Note.

i love doumouji's character; i loved his super dumb moments. :lol: i agree though - oguri shun's hair looks better black like it was in hana kimi.

death note sounds even more interesting now. fighting and investigations? yay!

liar game is about this girl (erika toda) who is an extremely honest person, and somehow gets mixed up in this game called the liar game tournament. because she accidentally joined the game, there's now no way out for her. she finds a swindler who was released from prison (shota matsuda), and he guides her as she tries to win the game.

i'm not the best at summaries, but the show sounds better than what i just described, haha.

The best thing is watching finished series I guess, as they are all complete to watch in sequence at any time. I say the streaming takes a while (time) for me, so I was like watching through a few weeks..and even months...lol

As I said, I never really watched HYD, but Meteor Garden Taiwan version, so I assume DMJ was the same arrogant brat. LOL...maybe that is why my favourite character was Rui...ha...the fan bases are either loud and brash DMJ, or the introverted Rui.
So...just tell me, did Makino (hmmm, the Japanese actress reminds me of singer Jolin Tsai) end up with DMJ? Did the mum get what she deserved for being such a meanie? And why would there be a movie...? ! B/c they still didn't end up together?!

I may check out 'Liar Game' now after you mentioned it. It sounds rather good. Erika is becoming more recognizable in the Japanese actresses that I've seen. Lol, seems to know the J-guys more.

It seems that my trail of J-dramas started b/c of the ppl in it. and it all comes to people that I may have seen in one that leads to to watch another one just because I feel that I can see someone familiar in it. Would you started off like that? Or to say, how did you started watching j-dramas...on a recommendation..or just coincidence You-tubing...LOL

yeah, he was very arrogant and bratty. rui was my favorite too. at one point i was hoping it would be him that makino would be with. makino ended up being with domyouji instead. i'm guessing the movie is going to show the wedding...?

i've seen erika in a bunch of stuff! most of the time when i saw her, she was a minor character for maybe like, one episode, but she seemed to pop up a lot. same here - i know the guys more than i do the girls.

i started watching different dramas because an online friend of mine introduced me to crunchy roll, then i found TK's dramas on there, and i got hooked. :P a classmate of mine was watching zettai kareshi and i checked it out, and it kept on going from there!

Yes - wasn't it, at the start, Makino liked Rui (DMJ, of course, was such a bully), and after the older girlfriend left, Rui sorta went more introverted - but I remember, that he and Makino was together for a bit right? It drove DMJ crazy with jealousy (sorry, only know the storyline from what I watched in the Taiwan version) ....but I sometimes think Rui could be abit sly. Like he would do things his way to get sorta a reaction. But he is non-caring to things that doesn't affect him. Maybe I'm forgetting...sorry...I'm just interested to know how the J version worked, although I'm lazy to go watch it all.

Reason why I didn't say Tk's drama - it's because it's a given that being a fan of TK, you've probably watched a drama or two from him. I've always watched mostly Hk dramas, and only Tk's J-dramas.

'Kurosagi' was the first completed J-drama I watched, and the story of how I got there was kinda stupid and a bit funny :rolleyes: . Anyway, that and 'Nobuta wo Produce' was the first 2 (other than TK's one) ...and then I fell out of the loop. As I said, I tend to get to new dramas by having familiar faces to watch, that is why seeing Maki Horikita in Hana Kimi, I watched that one this year... and then now I'm a bit addicted.

Hmm, did you watch 'Last Friends'? The synopsis was abit so-so, and so I didn't bother streaming it. But then, I started reading someone's episodes summary (very detailed ones), and sorta completed the series by continuing to read her updated posts...LOL...it's totally weird, but I wasn't that interested but intrigued to see how it would pan out. But the theme song by Utada Hikaru is so good.

This movie was released this year, and tell the story about Mirume(Kenichi Matsuyama) that fall in love with an older woman Yui(Hiromi Nagasaku), and she is the lithography teacher in Mirume University.

yep. exactly. makino couldn't stand domyouji in the beginning and was in love with rui. in the japan version, rui follows his girlfriend back to paris and comes back to japan after a few months and starts to like makino. by this time though, makino is starting to fall of domyouji.

if i remember correctly, makino was never officially with rui. rui was just protecting her a lot in the beginning and he did kiss her on the forehead in like...episode 3, but that was it. rui still had feelings for makino though.

yeah, i started from zettai. i had wanted to watch TK's dramas, but i didn't know where to find them for the longest time until this year.

i liked nobuta wo produce, and i just found out about kurosagi, so i'll be watching that one after i finish the one i'm viewing now ("Pride").

but yeah, i'm the same. i usually find new dramas by finding familiar faces. that's why almost all the dramas i've seen have the same people in them. :P

Oh, it's another teacher older woman feature - on a theme continuing along with Vivi's post. At first I thought - would it be heading for a tearjerker genre - but the title, you said was 'Don't laugh at my romance' - sounds like a comedy.

I haven't expanded much to J-movies yet (other than Tk's), so I'm not sure what is around. Pretty much seen only the Death Note, as you would have seen, seeing your Kenichi siggy.

Or Nobuta. I loved Akira! Sorta zany guy who is too adorable when it comes down to crunch time. One of my fave scene was when he went to Shuji's house to 'threaten' him to pull flowers for Nobuta or else! His comments in the house plus the chopping of tiles was funny. In a trend lately (for J-dramas) I'm seemingly going for the underdog who doesn't get the girl etc..LOL. :rolleyes:

Nobuta power - It's kinda suprising to learn that Maki is only 19/20, and has notched up so many dramas already in her career.

AH...Pride is the one with Kimura? The lawyer one. I'm trying to get it off a friend so I can watch it aside from the streaming online, saves time, just to check out one of his earlier series. I don't know if I'll like his latest one 'Change' enough to stream.
