This is the only place I know to go and ask this type of question. I hope someone can help.

My boyfriend and his best friends from college all live far, far, away from one another. They are also all very computer oriented so they have taken to playing the massive multi-player online computer games (WOW at this point to be exact) to stay in touch.

My bf said to me the other day that he and his one bud had talked it over and knew they would be getting tired of WOW soon. So he has entrusted me to help them find something else to use to stay in touch.

They want something interactive, fun, that they can talk to each other in real time while doing. I want something I can take part in as well when I want to, and something that unlike most of these games doesn't require huge amounts of time spent in the game world to get and stay ahead. I am not into this type of thing actively enough to stay at his level if there is a level system in place (you know, you can reach a level 60 status but someone who is only 30 can't do all the things you can). I would also like something that he isn't going to be tied to, something that he doesn't have to be in the game for "raids" or whatever at certain times on certain days.

Does something like that exist? Is so please advice me what it is and where to find it.
