Mercy ran through the door that connected her workshop with the kitchen, a golden knife in one gloved hands smudges of ash on her face and apron, she looked around the kitchen, not seeing what she was looking for she yelled at the top of her lungs, "KASSIE!"
A pudgy young woman with dark brown hair ran into the room heavly breathing she held a needle with black thread in one hand while the other was on her chest her apron had blood on it as did her hands, apparently she had been in her workshop too.
"Customer?" Mercy asked calmly with a raised eyebrow as she stared at the needle and the blood.
"Yes, your lucky i wasn't stitching the wound yet you shocked me so bad," Kassie said in-between huffs.
"Sorry," Kassie said as she laid the golden knife on the table in-between Kassie and herself, she started removing her apron as she continued smugly saying, "I call it the Firefly!"
Kassie leaned into get a closer look at the knife, made out of gold, the knife looked like a fire blaze with more than one point and many sharp angles. It took her awhile to realize that the knife was covered in symbols and inscriptions, many which she recognized for delaying rust, water proof, fire proof but the rest she did not recognize.
"What are the inscriptions for?" Kassie asked a she noticed the large opal at the bottom of the handle, not actually sure she wanted to know the answer to her question.
"When it contacts blood it burns," replied Mercy easily, she paused with a thought, "and skin, it burns like the person is on fire, with out the actually fire part, it leaves burn marks too," she finished as she held up her ungloved hands to show small burn marks.
Kassie slowly touched the handle of the knife when it didn't burn she looked at Mercy, "it didn't burn me?"
"That’s cause the hilt is not affected by the spells only the actual blade itself,” she said as she finished cleaning her face with a wet cloth, they both looked toward Kassie’s private workshop when they heard a loud moan, “Where Lyonel?”
“Taking a nap hopefully he’s still sleeping,”
Mercy nodded as she grabbed her cloak, “I have to go to work, and you have a patient, tell Lyon I’ll be home late” she gave a quick wink and ran out the front door.
Kassie sighed, she turned around and said towards her workshop, “I’m coming I’m coming, its not like your gonna loose your whole arm!”
Suddenly Mercy ran through the front door again stopped right in front of Kassie with a dazed look on her face, “I forgot to put Firefly away,” Kassie rolled her eyes as she grabbed the knife off the table and put it in the chest that they put sharp objects in that were to be sold the next day at the market, Kassie locked it and stared at Mercy, “Your running late,” Mercy swore in at least three languages as she ran out the door.
