Title: A Rather Sneaky Visit
Livia Heart - March 2, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
It was very early in the morning, earlier than even Livia was supposed to be up. Yawning, Livia brushed the sleepiness from her eyes and got out of bed and crept down the halls she knew by heart. She had a small candle, and was praying it would last. When she arrived at the library, she let out a sigh of relief. The candle sputtered but kept going.
Livia walked over to her favorite section, the biographys. She always tried to remember to be balanced in her reading choices, but they were her favorites. Scanning the shelves, she found a book about Keladry of Mindelan and one about Queen Thayet, her personal heroines. She became totally absorbed in her book. She just prayed that nobody would catch her.
Lady Kaia - March 2, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
Kaia of Sweetbriar sighed, not a week in the palace, and she was already hopelessly behind in her work. Glancing at a sheet full of figures and bored doodles, she winced. She should have really paid more attention in mathematics, instead of goofing off; Now she had no idea on how to do the homework the master had assigned, and would get more punishment work to add to her already overflowing workload. Kaia yawned, she had gotten up way before her usual rising hour to get the work she had neglected last night done, but it seemed that it wouldn't really matter. Gloomily she picked up the book from which the reading master had assigned a chapter to read, and grimiced. Kaia loved reading, but biographies like the one she was assigned on Queen Thayat bored her, she already knew about the events and was bored to have to read them again.
Kaia was about to give up and head back to her rooms to maybe get a few more hours of sleep, when another person entered the library. Kaia quickly doused her candle, hunkered down, and hoped that the small circle of light which was the other person wouldn't come near. As it was Kaia's luck held, and the person turned into another row of books. Quietly, Kaia gathered her papers and books, and quickly headed towards the exit. As she saw the other person however, she paused, she, now Kaia could indeed see the person was female, had come out of the biography section and was carrying a book that looked a lot like the one she had been assigned. Kaia debated for a minute, then dumped her materials on another table and headed towards the small circle of light. Approching nervously and hoping she wouldn't get in trouble, Kaia reached the other woman, and said in a polite, shy voice "Um, Excuse me. Sorry to interrupt, but would it be possible for you to help me with something? It shouldn't take long." Kaia looked hopefully at the person, Kaia knew that she would never get through the chapter without falling asleep in the condition she was in, and she couldn't risk anymore punishment work.

Livia jumped at least a foot in the air. "Oh, my, erm, I'm terribly sorry, madam, I know I shouldn't be here." The other girl looked completely confused, and replied, "I'm Kaia of Sweetbriar, I don't see a reason to call me madam." Livia blushed. I guess in the dark, nobody can tell I'm a servant!! she thought. "Well, what do you need help with?" she asked. Kaia pointed to the book Livia was holding on Queen Thayet. "I need to borrow that. I need to do a report on Queen Thayet, and that book looks like the one I was assigned." Livia cocked her head. "Are you a page?" Kaia nodded. "Well, by all means, I've read this book thousands of times, you can have it!" Livia exclaimed. She pressed the book into the page's hands and said jokingly, "Enjoy!"
On a second thought, she added, "And if you need anything, I'll be over here reading about Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan. It is my duty to serve you, after all." She turned and walked over to the table, opened her book to where she had left off, and began reading again.

OOC: Just because I'm bored and the person I was SUPPOSED to be talking to hasn't responded in over four days, this next post takes place three days later than the original one. Is this OK? I hope so. It's multiple sneaky visits after all...if it's not OK, then you can just delete this post and pretend it never happened...
IC: Livia crept down the hallway once more with a cup of tea filched from the kitchen and a small candlestick in hand. She was more sure of herself this time. If anyone were to catch her here, they would probably assume she was a noblewoman or something. It was impossible to see anything except for the book one was reading. Unless somebody recognized her.
She walked down a random row of books. Judging from the titles she saw: A History of the Scanran War, Great Knights from 400 H.E. to 461 H.E., and A Dictionary of Weapons, she guessed that she had wandered into the War section. "Hmm, hmm," she said, her eyes passing over the hundreds of titles looming before her. She finally decided on The Largest Battles of the Past Century. Looking at the publication date, just the past year, Livia decided it would make a good read. She chose another book from the Magic Section (which was convieniently located next to the War section) about healing magic, and a recipe book for the cook so she could suggest recipies other than the terrible steak they had recently been having. She settled down with her treasures and began to read.

OOC: I'm pretty sure that's fine, though you might want to watch the powerplaying. You have good RPing skills, but you can't control other peoples characters in their places. Just a warning. I know you're a bit new to this. ;) Also, sometimes the people don't get on for awhile, but they usually respond eventually.
