Title: A Prayer
Description: To the Great Mother Goddess...

Livia Heart - February 23, 2005 03:48 PM (GMT)
Livia knelt in the temple and started to pray. "Kyprioth," she began, then cut herself off and mentally kicked herself. She was praying to the trickster of all people, in all places! She couldn't help it - she was used to praying to him from her years in the Copper Isles. She knew who she wanted to pray to.

"Great Mother Goddess," she began again, "I hope it's not too much to ask of you, but I should like to see my father again...someday. I'm not sure if the Black God has already taken him, but if he has not, then would you mind helping me find him, please? Perhaps you are busy somewhere else right now, but if you can hear me..." her voice trailed off. If the Goddess was, in fact, there, Livia did not want to cry in front of her. Regaining her composure, Livia continued doggedly, "I'm going to do anything I can to find him, including going to the Dancing Dove or anywhere else he might be on my days off and asking around, but could you just speed the process up?" She ended her prayer and just sat there a while, while the fancy skirts of the noblewomen and the homespun dresses of commoners like her brushed the floor as they entered and exited the temple.

Rean of Laraes - March 9, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)
Rean of Laraes stepped up to the prayer bench, and made a quick sign against evil. "Mithros be with you, brother." She murmured softly, her hair cascading in front of her eyes. She blinked a few tears away. She was wearing a pretty but simple red dress. She didn't believe in getting all dressed up to go to the city. She'd probably either start a fight, get into a fight, or trip into something. That's just how she was. Plus, she disliked big silky dresses. While they were beautiful, they were confining, and left her almost no space for the knives she carried in the city. The squire backed away from the dias, and almost ran into Livia. She rolled her eyes. Typical of her, to alomst bowl someone over in a temple of all places. "I'm sorry." She whispered.

Livia Heart - March 11, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
Livia jumped a little bit. She turned around and saw a girl behind her. She remembered that face. It was a squire from the palace, Rean of Laraes.

"It's fine, it's fine, madam," she said. "I didn't know you were there either. What are you doing here, anyway?"

Rean of Laraes - March 11, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)
Rean gestured to the statue of the Godess. She grinned, and said calmly, "Well. I was trying to pray, but I seem to be to clumsy for that." She laughed, her voice coming out easily. She was glad it didn't sound tearful. She missed her family, her brother. She, for a second, looked at the ground, then her chocolaty eyes moved back to Livia. "I'm Rean. What's your name?" She quieried, wondering what the girl was just sitting here for, when she wasn't praying. Well, Rean amended, she wasn't praying out loud. Maybe she was in her mind. Some people did that.

Livia Heart - March 18, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
"I'm Livia," Livia replied. "I'm a servant in the palace. It's my day off, so I just came down here. I've seen you in the infirmary. You certainly 'fall down' plenty of times, don't you?"

Rean of Laraes - April 14, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
Rean grinned lopsidedly, "I do." She winked, "I tend to 'fall down' more than most squires put together, actually." She flicked her hair back. It's dark locks her tied in a ponytail, but it didn't seem tomake a difference. She smiled, "Aren't you in the library a lot?" She asked. Rean had seen the other woman in there a few times. Personally, Rean was all forservents having more rights and things. She wasn't going to turn Livia in for reading on the job. Rean loved a good book herself.
