Name: Samuel David Munroe
Age: 16
Birthplace: Corus
Position: Bard with the Rambling Roses
History: Sam was the love child between a servant and a noble. The noble’s wife found out about it and consequently cast Sam’s mother into the streets.
Penniless, pregnant, and alone, she managed to gain a job as a serving gurl at an inn along with a small room in the corner and a few extra coins. It wasn’t enough however to ever be able to move out of the inn that was no place for a small child to grow up in. So she decided to become a prostitue. What was gonna happen? She couldn’t get pregnant now could she?
By the time Sam was born, his mother had managed to scrape together enough money to get them a small room in a boarding house. She continued as a server as well as her other occupation.
Sam was teased and beaten up for having a hore for a mother. Sam, at the time, had no idea what a hore was, but learned soon or later. When Sam was six, his mother went to work one night and never came back. Sam was watched by the landlord’s wife. Her husband had no compassion for the orphaned child and as soon as the body was found, he stuck Sam in an orphanage.
It was at the orphanage at the eight year old, first met and got acquainted with performing arts. Once a year a small group of performers would come a week before Midwinter festivals started and perform for the orphans.
Sam was enchanted and set out writing his own stories prose-poetry stories, which him being ten and all were never that good, but though he’d never admit it he still has all of them.
At the age of twelve, he started sneaking out of the orphanage at night. First encounter of thrill seeking.
One night, he met Anna, a cheerful bubbly slightly ditzy teenager who more important was the daughter of a player. They forged a relationship that was very much like a brother-sister, but Sam had a bit of a crush on Anna, although he would never admit it. One day she took him home to her father and he’s been staying and playing with the Rambling Roses ever since.
A quick additional note, no one, I repeat no one, not even Anna knows Sam’s whole history. If asked and he’s feeling honest, he simply responds that he grew up in an orphanage and the rest is none of your friggin’ business. So shove the hell off.
Personality: Sam is a difficult person to understand. Make no mistake about it, he isn’t an outright rude person, but neither is he sugar and spice and everything nice. Sam is a withdrawn, introverted individual. He doesn’t mind being around people too much if there is no other choice, but given the option he would much rather spend time on his own. He has a few friends that he is close with, but he doesn’t make friends very easily. However, once he makes a friend he is incredibly loyal, and wouldn’t betray them for anything. In fact, he can turn out to be a bit clingy. Sam is a pessimist, because he firmly believes this is the most realistic point of view of life and then you’re never disappointed if your hopes are never really up. Occasionally he will believe in something good, but excitement over the future in its truest form isn’t something that he has felt since entering puberty.
Sam is sarcastic and deeply cynical for unknown reasons because she can be I suppose. He can sometimes be selfish and self centered more worried about himself than anyone else. He is also highly intelligent, learning his largest passion in life that this only slightly overshadowed by his love of the performing arts. If he were in school, he’d be one of the kids that manage to skate through nearly every single one of his classes without much effort it seems on her part. His intelligence also leads to an uncontained curiosity. Anything that interests him in the slightest will immediately must be remedied with an answer.
Sam’s greatest paradox is that he lies a lot and yet at the same time is usually truthful. He’s quite nearly a compulsive liar when it comes to past events, embellishing and twisting the story or what not. But ask him his opinion and you will never hear a lie out of him at this point.
He does have a sense of humor. He does enjoy a good laugh and having fun. His idea of fun is slightly different from most people’s idea. His confidence waxes and wanes not over time rather, but rather what he happens to be doing at the moment.
Sam also has a rather unhealthy emotional habit of suppressing his more extreme negative motions such as sadness or anger. His generally philosophy with both is: breathe deep and go numb.
Sam’s life undeniably has been none too great and has become a good feeling/adrenaline addict to be general he’s addicted to endorphins, one of the reasons he chose being a bard rather than anything else. Although he hasn’t found anyone to stalk properly, he will someday. He’d better in the mean time he satisfies his addiction with occasionally horing himself, drinking, , stealing, thinking about hanging himself and whatever else that might come to mind.
Physical Appearance: Sam stands at a skinny six feet one inch. His hair is naturally a bright blond that comes from his mother’s side of the family. But he dyed it black. The dark hair accents and exaggerates the paleness of his skin making him appear three times paler than he actually is not that he’s actually very dark to begin with. The Sun and Sam don’t really intermingle much. His eyes are a light blue. Sam being a teenager is prone to a bit redness, which is also the occasional site of pimples and blackheads. It spreads across his nose and on following the cheekbone. His choice of dress is simple, smooth cut and darker colors.
