Title: Spinner's circle

Jono Starsmore - August 4, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
The room was cluttered. Books and clothing were thrust into various piles around the room. But the bed was made and on top of it was piled with books. But the occupant of the room was sitting ay the desk, sprawled across the top of the desk. His cheek pressed against the surface. His breath gently curling and uncurling the paper beneath his chin. Around Jono’s feet, papers were piled as thick as snow on Midwinters.

The scene wasn’t uncommon and wouldn’t ever be uncommon probably unless Jono got married and his wife dragged him off to bed, which wouldn’t be happening for awhile

Kat opened Jono’s door quickly. She caught the knob before it could bang against the wall. Her black hair wasn’t pulled away from her face and was a mess. “Jono, I-” she froze in mid-sentence, looking at sprawled out poet. The scene was almost cute. She shook her head and sighed. “How do you sleep like that?” Kat asked him incredulously. “I brought you lunch.”

Jono, she knew, had the bad habit of skipping meals to write. Something that Kat couldn’t fault him, but she was going to let him starve.

[Damn double posts}

Jono’s nose twitched at the very smell of food. Food vs. sleep. His body was clamoring for both. He vaguely recognized Kat’s voice as well and knew that she wasn’t going to let him sleep without first shoving food down his throat.

Reluctantly, he let go of the dream that he had been having and sat up. He covered his hand with his mouth as a yawn stretched his jaw wide. “What time is it?” He asked.

Kat set the basket down on a steady looking pile off books and went to throw the curtains open. “Almost one. What time did you fall asleep?” She asked. “An estimate.”

Jono yawned again and scratched his head. “Dunno. Five maybe? It was starting to get light.” He straightened up. His back snapping several times and he massaged the back of his neck. “Awch.” He grunted. His neck ached and one side of his face was numb. “Food?” He asked hopefully looking at the basket.

Kat Qamar - August 13, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
Kat smiled at Jono’s hopeful tone. “Of course. Do you think I’d come to visit you without it?” She motioned the desk. “Might wanna clean up there a little,” she suggested tucking her hair behind her ears as she opened the basket.

Jono contemplated his desk for a moment. He picked up his pen and inks and set them in his lap and then reached out with one arm and knocked all the papers onto the floor. “Clean,” he proclaimed, grinning up at Kat. He blinked at her somewhat surprised. “You look different with you hair down,” He said, stating the obvious.
