The result page was 'experiencing technical difficulties' when I took it, so I've no clue what I'll be.

Artemis of Tirragen - June 21, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
*sigh* I'm Duke Roger, too. I mean, taking over the world is fun and all, but its not exactly an obsession. I don't think...
Anti-hero? Why?! I'm telling you, I've never played an evil character.
Well, there was that one who was in a dilemma over whether to obey his evil warlord fathers orders and betray his friends, or die. But thats not an antihero. Or is it?
Princess Miya - June 21, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)

Artemis of Tirragen - June 24, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
Ok, Kit. I'm going to attempt the impossible - to summarize an approximately 92 page epic in just a few paragraphs. *breathes*
The plot was pretty stupid. And this was my first chara, so I was annoyingly controlling, or so I'm told. In short, the evil warlord father with his mafia-like family was tracing Sauruman's steps, being controlled by the evil eye...
Meanwhile, the scene switches to three beautiful blondes, one the daughter of the Dunedain, another Eowyn's granddaughter, and the other just a plain stupid flirt with odd connections, plan to go on a quest. With no object in sight. Just to quest and fall in love with the King of Gondor.
And then Tomas runs in, ranting that his "father" had died and left him with this ancient medallion. I put "father" in parentheses because he's really not his father, he was lying. Turn out the old man was really the keeper of the last palanthir, and Tomas had been working as a spare hand for him for the last year or so. But Tomas isn't really Tomas, either. He's actually the accidental son of the evil mafia warlord who craves recognition and acceptance by his dozen or so other brothers and sisters, and so has accepted a dangerous spy task in which he leads them to the last palandir whose location is incribed on the back of the said medallion. Tomas had been altered physically, by one of the lesser rings, so he looks nothing like his real identity.
I have to mention, the chara chemistry on this was amazing. There was some romance between Tomas and the dumb flirt, him being a rather shallow person, or perhaps just stupid. And no one could agree. It was amazing the arguments we had. And the angstiness was pretty good too, especially after Tomas' evil, yet seemingly good natured polite, half brother showed up, after brutally murdering the occupants of the the cabin they were staying in.
But, this being my first RP ever, I refused to give up Tomas' secret identity, which turned out to be, in essence the plot. There were OOC debates about it, but my fellow RPers, tired of following an intricate plot (being threatened to be killed by bandits is really difficult to understand) made a real wise decision. They would close the thread, until I told them the plot. Feeling this was an unjust act of coercion, I refused to, quit the site, and there it died. (I might mention that the idea to close the plot stemmed from other, er, tensions than what was going on in the thread. Ah, my stellar social life...) Well, I lied kind of. The thread was reopened, but no one ever came back, and after ezboard deleted everything, it was a done deal.
And that, Kit, is how it turned out.

Lorelle Brown - July 1, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
Hayden LaRue - July 1, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
Holy rusted mental batman!
That is crazy. I don't think even my soap operish plot line even comes close to that. I'm not sure whether that would be heaven or hell.
Thomas Rede - July 3, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
Well, it started out fairly noobish, but once everyone had declared their tragic pasts, or had their preliminary meltdown, we actually managed some chara development. Most of the time we would forget about the plot, because our characters would have these wonderfully engrossing arguments over who cooked dinner and whether the chicken was burnt or not, which somehow evolved into accusations of 'you are so obnoxious why don't you just curl up into a corner and die?'.
It was like... nothing I've done since, hehe.
Sam Munroe - July 3, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
Is that a good or bad thing?
Thomas Rede - July 3, 2005 06:50 AM (GMT)
Hm, good question. Well, it was a lot of fun while it lasted, which I guess makes it good. But we argued a lot, and not just IC. But it was fun. :)
