~Player information~

First of all I would just like to say that I am a huge fan of Tamora Pierce's books. It was her books that encouraged me to become a writer and I start college this fall in order to fulfill that dream. My real name is Raven but I would like my character to be known as Lady Alysa of Dragon-Mountain and Griffin-Wyrn, it is female, just to put that straight. I have read all of Tamora's books but the last one... Trickster's Queen, however Trickster's Choice was one of my favorites. But Lioness Rampant was my favorite series. I found this site by searching google for medieval rpgs and then started searching invisionfree for them as well... I saw Tamora Pierce's name and Tortall and started looking around. I was really excited. I do have rpg experience. I am a member of about ten forums one that is not a rpg and on 1 i am an admin and one 2 others i am a mod. I am very glad that I found this site and I hope I find as big of a fan as I am for the Tortall lifestyle.

~History~

Aly was born as an only child to her parents Sir Cain of Dragon Mountain and Lady Aitan of Griffin-Wyrn at Port Caynn. Since they were both knights she wanted to become one as well.

Her father died at the hands of an Immortal that attacked the port when she was two and her mother died in childbirth with Aly's little brother. Skye survived through the night but died the next day.

Aly grew up with her cousins but never forgot who she came from. Her dream to become a knight stayed with her through every hardship and trial of her life.

When she was eight years old several knights passed through her home at Port Caynn and told her of her mother and father's adventures. She grew excited and told them she too wanted to become a knight of the king. The men would only laugh and tell her to keep up with her dreams. They did not know she was Cain and Aitan's daughter. On the day the old knights left the port they left behind a small falcon because of a hurt wing. She befriended this bird and even when the people of the port told her it would never fly she believed it would.

On her tenth birthday her cousins brought her before the royal family and told them of her dreams and of her mother and father. After almost a year Aly became a page. She had a hard time in her training but studied harder and trained longer then anyone else including the masters. Aly was the first squire chosen from her ranks and traveled the world of Tortall with her knight Lady Adeline.

When the knight took her she gave her an old war horse named Dante. Lady Adeline had been a page with Cain and Aitan as a child and told several accounts of their life as well as how she felt when they married. She would always tell Aly how proud her parents would be if they could see her and how proud the king would be to have such a knight in his presence.

Aly became Lady Alysa of Dragon-Mountain and Griffin-Wyrn on the day of her birthday. Alysa looks up to Adeline as an aunt and a big sister. She dreams of protecting the king at all cost and enjoys spending time in the Yamani Islands and in the mountains. She is currently traveling the countryside in search of Immortals and stopped for a few days in Corus. Her companions a falcon named Sofi and her white horse Dante.


~Personality~

Alysa likes to talk to herself but is actually talking to her animals. She
enjoys the outdoors and speaking with other people. She is quick to anger and slow to forgive. She has a fear of drowning, closed spaces, odd rodents and of childbirth. Her strengths are protecting her friends, her cunning nature, her ability to talk her way out of things and her anger problem. She is very smart but dislikes knights that have told her in the past she should give up on her dream. She still keeps in touch with her cousins and never forgets them. She sends money to them often. When she is hit on by men she ignores it and leaves in fear she may become close to them.


~Physical Appearance~

Alysa is almost six feet tall with green eyes and red silk-like hair that she keeps in a braid that hangs to her knees. Her skin is alabaster white and she has a single scar across her left cheek, she got it while she was a page. The sun has no affect on her other then make her cranky because of all the times she was sunburned as a child. Alysa is a nice person over all, but she is a bit sarcastic and takes things the way they are said. She wears black page pants and a white tunic when she is not in her armor. She carries a rampant gold dragon with a black background on her shield, a small dagger in her right boot and her sword on her left hip, when out traveling she carries a bow and a quiver of arrows. Her armor is black with gold trim but she also has a suit that is several shades of green.


~Sample Post~

Alysa glanced down at her wolf companions then up to her falcon flying above her. She could just make out the tiny black speck against the blue deep sky. They had been riding for hours since the sun rose and her stomach was starting to growl, almost demanding food. She smirked and stopped her horse. Alysa threw her leg over the saddle and took her bow from the saddle-horn. After placing her quiver on her back she nodded to the animals to find themselves something to eat and started off in search of some small game.
