Cosette was wandering through the library more out of boredom than any actual interest in the books. The grey blue of her gown crinkled behind her. She smoothed down her skirt and idly ran a hand down the rounded spine of the books. She glanced around the room. It was gloomy. The large windows meant that the room took on whatever the weather was like outside, and at the moment it was pitch black with heavy rain.

She sighed. She could be outside with her friends strolling in the gardens and courtyards or watching the squires train, but her she was stuck inside.

Cosette sat in a chair and stared moodily into space.

Daniel walked into the library carrying four books that he had borrowed. He started putting them away when he saw a young lady sitting in a chair. He placed his books on the table and walked up to her.

"My lady, are you alright?" He asked quietly.

Cosette yawned and fell back in the chair, but jerked up immediately as someone said the word, milady and was obviously directed at her. She straightened up and turned to face the man. “Oh, nothing, sir,” she smiled, shaking her head and pushing a curl out of her face. Her smile lit up her entire face, while she covertly studied the man. “I’m just bored. It’s,” she flung her hand at the nearest window, “I was suppose to have plans today, unfortunately they were all outside.” She sighed.

"Yes, it's rather terrible weather today. Not really much we can do about that." he studied her closely then bowed slightly. "I'm Daniel of Blackwater, it's nice to meet you."

"I can offer my company, maybe we can start up an interesting conversation?"

Cosette smiled. "I'm Cosette of Rosemark, and I would love to have an interesting conversation." She pointed to the chair across from her. "Please, take a seat."

"Cosette...A very pretty name." He said sitting across from her. "So what would you like to talk about, Lady Cosette."

Cosette smiled and settled back in her chair. “Thank you. I always liked the name Daniel as well.” She shrugged. “I don’t know what do knights like to talk about?”

Eleanor had been rifling through the bookshelves, absentmindedly looking for a book on healing, and was passing through the study area, when she heard a familiar voice.

"Ah, hello Daniel!" she exclaimed happily. She looked to his companion. "Good evening, Lady Cosette," she greeted stiffly, meeting her eyes, her expression guardedly blank.

"I don't know. We could talk about what your plans were outside?"

He turned as he heard Eleanor's voice. "Eleanor lovely to see you out of the Infirmary." he said joking with his cousin.

"Yes, very nice," she agreed, smiling.

"So, Daniel," she asked, eyes twinkling, "whatever brings you to this part of the castle? I thought knights had better things to do than read! Or have you already vanquished all the dastardly villains you can handle?"
