Title: Cleaning
Description: .. Yippee!
Sayuri - April 22, 2005 01:27 AM (GMT)
Sayuri, halfway through her glaive practice, paused to listen to the bell chime eight times. Sighing, the young priestess turned and bowed out of habit, glaive planted firmly in the floor. Hastely, she threw on the novice robes for the Goddess, and, with her glaive, walked out of her room.
Heading downs towards the closest, she got a few rolled eyes for carrying her weapon, but she didn't care one bit. Taking the mop, clothe, bucket, and broom, she headed into the altar. She casted a small glance to the door, and set everything down, except the broom. At the end, she quietly began to sweep, only looking when someone would enter. She just hoped that person wouldn't be drunk.
Priestess Kataru - April 25, 2005 11:31 PM (GMT)
Kataru walked into the temple her glaive in her hand. She had just come back from a walk in the forest. She saw Sayuri sweeping the floors and smiled at the girl.
"Good morning." she said cheerfully. I believe you were the one practicing with a glaive am I correct?"
Sayuri - April 25, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
Sayuri looked up, the girl coming in when attention was focused upon the floor. Giving, an equally cheerful greeting with a smile. When light from the glaive caught her attention, she looked up, in time when she was being spoken too.
Bowing her head lightly, she affirmed the assumption with a polite. "You are correct, my lady." Straightening up, she held the broom in her hand.
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
Priestess Kataru - April 26, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
"Yes I was wondering if I could meet the High Priestess here if she was in" She bowed politly to Sayuri." My name is Kataru Minamoto. I am a Yamani Priestess from the Emporer's temple. I have come with a message that I must speak of with her."
Sayuri - April 26, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
At the title, she bowed lightly, one more. Standing up, she solomnly pointed to the door on her left, the one next to the cleaning items and glaive.
"Pleasure to know your name, Priestess Kataru. The High Priestesses office is through that door, and bending a right. Please remember to knock. I'm not sure if she is awake or not." Sayuri replied, hand already down onto the broom.
"If she isn't awake, I could give an estimate time to be back, that time being just before noon."
Priestess Kataru - April 27, 2005 02:13 AM (GMT)
"Well if she is not awake and moving around I can wait to speak with her..." she smiled at Sayuri. "The message is from my father who is the High Priest at my temple."
Kataru looked at the all the cleaning supplies. "Would you like some help? I wouldn't mind, since I've probably have done the same chores as you once..."
Sayuri - April 29, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
[OOC- Sorry for the long delay]
Sayuri nodded her head respectfully, returning the smile. Looking over at the cleaning supplies, she thought for a moment at what the priestess could do.
"You can dust or clean the windows if you'd like. Either would be helpfull. I really don't think mopping would be good with the floor still being sweeped." Sayuri smiled, starting to sweep again. "And my name is Sayuri."
Priestess Kataru - April 30, 2005 03:18 AM (GMT)
Kataru grabbed a cloth and went to the windows and started dusting.
"It's nice to meet you Sayuri."She said bowing lightly to the girl. "So what's it like working at the Temple of the Goddess?"
Sayuri - May 1, 2005 03:13 AM (GMT)
Sayuri smiled lightly as Katura picked up the clothe. Looking down, she continued to sweep, a placid feature on her face.
"Well, I'm still in training, but even still, its been an expierence. One I wish to stick with." Sayuri replied, pulling what ever dust might be behind the altar. "Its just one of those places I connect too."
Priestess Kataru - May 1, 2005 06:50 PM (GMT)
"Yes...I've known the feeling. But ever since I left the Yamani Islands I just havn't found my place to connect to yet." she sighed.
She moved on to the next window as she finished the first. She cleaned it and moved on to the next one passing the time by.
Sayuri - May 2, 2005 12:23 AM (GMT)
Sayuri continued to sweep in a foward motion, heading to the door, mostly. She sort of liked the sound the bristles made against the smooth, stone surface of the temple.
"What is like? Over in the Islands? My parents moved here when Queen Shinkokami was crowned, before I was born." The priestess trainee explained quietly. "I've been wanting to visit, but I haven't the time nor money yet."
Priestess Kataru - May 3, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
"The Islands are beautiful. I've been to all of them, most of them on training expeditions." She came back and placed the cloth down after finishing the windows. "But you would like them alot. And to tell you the truth Trainee Sayuri I miss the Islands already. Maybe me and you could go and visit them." She laughed
"That is if the princess gives me time off.."
Sayuri - May 3, 2005 10:28 PM (GMT)
Listened to what she could, as she moved her dust pile down the ramp. She would duck once in awhile to reach under a pew. but she would just pop back up, adding to her dust pile.
"They sound peaceful, the Islands, but they aren't all the time, from my parents' stories." Sayuri stated, pulling some of her long tresses away from her face. Laughing, she replied, "I would love to join you, Priestess Kataru."
Sighing, she reached a corner, dragging the dust out. In the Yaman language, to make sure there were no eavesdroppers, she asked. "Might I ask why you are here? If you don't mind me asking, of course, or it its none of my business."
Priestess Kataru - May 3, 2005 10:38 PM (GMT)
Kataru looked at the girl. "I'm here to deliver a message to your High Priestess and I also have a couple of questions I need to ask as well. And probably because I miss working at a temple." She replied in Yamani.
In Common she continued. "There's nothing you need to worry. I'm just worried about the Princess."
Sayuri - May 5, 2005 07:19 PM (GMT)
Sayuri nodded her head as the words translated into her head. Smiling reasuringly, she said, "Then I shall not worry."
As she finished sweeping, she was at the door, when a rather red-faced woman walked in. Not red, as in blushing, or out of breath. Red as in anger. Saving her pile of dust from her quick pace, she glanced at her, sweeping the dust out of the temple. Coming back inside, a man seemed to be heading in the general direction. He paused hesitantly, looking up at the temple, thinking twice about it. Grumbling, he walked away, as the woman made her way to the alter.
Sayuri's face stayed calm, nodding respectfully to the women, as she placed the broom against the wall. Looking at Kataru, she pointed to the mop, and tilted her head, while pointing to herself, and the side door. She was indicating if the priestess too would like a mop to help do so. She then shrugged, a gesture that she didn't have too.
Priestess Kataru - May 6, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
Kataru nodded at the site of Sayuri's mop. She saw the woman come in and wondered what was wrong, but she kinda too the hint.
((Sorry so short...Don't know what else to write))
Sayuri - May 7, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
(( No worries... Want to 'control' the woman while Sayuri is away? *shrugs*I was just looking for some action ~.^))
Sayuri nodded at the response. Silently, she placed her own next to the broom. Bowing at the doorway, she eyes the woman lightly. Quietly she opened the doorway, disappearing into the hallway.
Sayuri had passed a few of the other trainee's who eyed the Yamani as she made her way back to the closest. Rumaging around, she made quite the racket. The girl who was sleeping came out, looking anything but happy.
"Keep it down." She hissed, slamming the door.
Sayuri shrugged, muttering a 'No', as she found the spare mop. Closing the door, she found her way back to the temple.
Priestess Kataru - May 7, 2005 06:23 PM (GMT)
Kataru looked at the woman that had walked in while Sayuri and herself were cleaning. "Mistress are you alright?" She asked the woman.
The woman turned to Kataru and whispered "Priestess...my husband...he..." she sniffled. "He beat and raped me..."
Kataru looked at the woman. She now realized that she was covered in bruises and scrapes.
She saw Sayuri come back through the door. "Sayuri...Is there a room where I can help her in. She's hurt..."
Sayuri - May 9, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
Sayuri silently propped the mop against the wall. She nodded her head once at Kataru in reply. Looking to the lady, she offered a kind smile.
"If you are done praying, my lady, I will take you to are infirmery to rest." Sayuri stated, taking a few steps foward. The women nodded in reply, sniffling again.
Coming up to the woman, she lightly laid an arm around her shoulders, leading her to a door on the other side. "If you'd like, Kataru, you may follow so you know where it is." Sayuri offered, standing still for a moment.
Priestess Kataru - May 9, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I'll follow." She followed Sayuri down the hall to the Infirmary.
"Sayuri, I can heal her if she wants to be. I can bring down the swelling..."
Sayuri - May 10, 2005 01:00 AM (GMT)
Sayuri nodded her head as she reached for the door, opening it. Slowly, she shook her head.
"We have a healer here, and it wouldn't bother her at all." Sayuri responded, as she walked down to the front of the hallway, which wasn't too far at all. Opening the door, she glided the ganused women to a vacant bed up beside the window. "Here you are miss. Would you like a healer for your bruises?"
The woman just nodded her head, and as if on que, the healer entered. Looking at the women, she smiled, grabbing some bandages as she came over. "Sayuri, dear, I was wondering why you were here so earlier... As your lessons aren't until after noon lunch." Sayuri slowly bowed.
Opening an arm, she allowed view of her friend. "This is Priestess Kataru, of the Islands. Kataru, this is Healer Nenia."
Priestess Kataru - May 11, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
Kataru followed Sayuri into the Infirmary. She followed Sayuri to the woman's bed and stood to the side as Sayuri helped helped her in.
She looked to the door, to see the healer arrive. She watched as she talked to Sayuri and then bowed when she metioned her name. "It's nice to meet you Healer Nenia."
She straightened. "If you would like I can help you with this woman. You see..." She pulled her sleeves back revealing her silver wrist bands. "I have the gift. A strong one in that manner. If you let me help you Mistress Nenia, I would be honored..."
Sayuri - May 12, 2005 07:08 PM (GMT)
Healer Nenia smiled faintly, remembering this with Sayuri when they first met. She bowed in return. "Nice to meet you Kataru. I would love for you to help, but I might want to check her over first. Anything major that you can fix would be fine."
Nenia then turned to Sayuri. "Thank you for bringing them... Now, finish your duties, please."
Sayuri sighed, and bowed. "Good luck." She said to both, before exiting the room, and heading her way back into the temple. Heading to the door, she took a peek outside. The male seemed to be waiting for her. Frowing, Sayuri closed each door at a time, watching the man twist his face in fury. Noisely, she pretended to lock the door, hoping the man might walk away. Now silently, she picked up a mop and began to quietly wash the floors.
Priestess Kataru - May 17, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
Kataru watched as the healer looked over the woman. She saw her nod at her, telling her that she could go on with the healing. She walked up to her and put her hands over the woman's body. Her hands started glowing, then her wrist bands. The woman's bruises and scraps began to fade.
Kataru pulled back. The bruises were gone along with the lady's cuts. She watched as the woman fell asleep. Good...she needs the rest.
Kataru bowed to the healer and walked out the door and walked back to were Sayuri was. "Sayuri, is that man still out there? If so we have to try and get him away from the temple. The young lady is sleeping. And the good news is that she is all healed."
Sayuri - May 17, 2005 12:55 AM (GMT)
Sayuri looked up from her work, and slowly shrugged. She nodded her head to the door. "I 'locked' it. Hopefully he might leave, but I'll got check."
Propping her mop up against the wall, she reached over for her glaive. Waving to the area around the alter, she stated. "Watch out, its wet over there." Reaching the door, she tugged lightly, swinging the one ajar. Peeking her head out, she paused to look around. The man was pacing at the bottom of the steps. Waving for Katura to follow, she stepped out.
"Is there something you need, sir?" She questioned lightly, glaive beside her.
Stomping up a few steps, he hissed. "I want to see my bloody wife, priestess, or I will get her myself."
Priestess Kataru - May 20, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
Kataru watched as Sayuri opened the door to look out. She grabbed her glaive which was by the cleaning supplies, being careful not to walk on the wet floor.
She walked out behind Sayuri and saw the man. When she heard his request, fury rose in her. She took a step in front of Sayuri and placed her glaive in front in a guarding kind of way.
"I'm sorry sir, but we can not allow you to visit her." She looked at Sayuri and winked then turned back to the man and gave him a disgusted look. "It's against our code to allow you to see her. It's your fault she's in the "bloody" condition. I suggest you leave before I get angry."
Sayuri - May 21, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
Sayuri stayed still and silent from behind Katura. She only moved once, to get peer past the older girl. She watched as the man shook even more. Holding a stubby finger he pointed it at Kataru.
"You don't know the story, Yamani wench." He sneered loudly. "now get out of my way."
Behind her, Sayuri slowly closed the door. There just might be a fight, and she didn't want to endanger anyone else. Looking around the district, she saw others who were cleaning their temples peek outside to watch.
Priestess Kataru - May 22, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
"How dare you insult me," She shouted. Walking down the steps of the temple so she was now on equal ground with the man. " I am the Commander of the Yamani Warriors, and a High Priestess. It is against my code to allow you to visit your wife after you beat and raped her."
She pushed her glaive against the man pushing him out of the temple yard and onto the street.
"Sayuri..."She said turning her head to the younger girl. "You should go get your High Priestess and tell her what is happening now! Even if it disturbs her sleep."
She turned back to the man. "Now I am going to ask you nicely sir, either you leave or deal with me." She said blocking the gate, and pointing her glaive at him. "Make you choice...and be quick about it."
Sayuri - May 22, 2005 02:02 AM (GMT)
Sayuri kept a calm face as she watched as menacingly as she could. She wasn't in the Islands so it was okay to show emotion, she guessed. At the Priestesses orders she bowed instinctively and opened the large door.
One of her cheery friends waved a greeting to Sayuri, bombarding her with questions. "Ah, Sayuri. Cleaning were we? Whats all the rucas outside about?"
Instead of answering, Sayuri grabbed her friends arm, urging the girl to follow. "Not time to explain, Lyna of Southpeak. Follow." Together, the two found themselves at the end of the hallway. Sayuri banged loudly contuously, until at last it was opened, showing a wavy auburn haired woman with brown eyes. She stood tall, and elegant, despite a disgruntled expression.
"This better be good, Sayuri." The woman said crisply as the Yaman girl bowed.
"There is some trouble outside, High Priestess Halina. A man had beaten his wife and now seeks permission to see her in the infirmary. She's resting now." The story was paraphrased obviously, as Sayuri hastely began to walk away. Frowning, Halina followed, Lyna too who seemed just along for the ride.
"Is anyone else out there?" Halina asked briskly.
"High Priestess Kataru of the Yaman Islands." Sayuri replied, opening the first door. "She seeked to request a meeting and told her you were sleeping. Thats when it happened." When Sayuri finished, Lyna had opened the last door. Standing there, the three looked out on the scene before them.
Priestess Kataru - May 22, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Seeing Sayuri return with the High Priestess, Kataru looked at the man. "I'll give you a chance to think about your choice, so don't make it a stupid one." She told him bringing her glaive back to her side.
"I want to battle you now, wench, if it's the only way to see my pitaful wife."
Kataru's anger rose. She turned and walked back into the gate. She closed it behind her and drew a pentagram into the dirt near the wooden gate. She bent down and placed her hand in the middle of it. Her wrist band began to glow. "Guard...and Protect." She whispered to her self in her Yamani language.
She walked up to Sayuri and the High Priestess. She bowed. "That man..." She said pointing. "Has beaten and raped his wife, and left her terribly injured. He needs to be reported."
"Wench! Come back out here and fight." he shouted pulling out a dagger.
"That man can also not enter the temple until I remove my spell." She looked at the High Priestess. "Please, tell me what you want me to do."
Sayuri - May 22, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
Sayuri glared at the man, as she stepped aside to let the two talk, Lyna following in suit. "High Priestess Kataru, this is High Priestess Halina." Sayuri introduced after Kataru spoke politely.
"The woman is under Healer Nania's supervision, I presume. So there is nothing left to be done but wait. At least until the man may calm down to speak reasonably with." Halina spoke quietly. "Now please, why we wait, why not tell the entire story? From start to finish. Lyna and Sayuri, stay if you wish."
Lyna and Sayuri bowed lightly, trading looks. "Invitation accepted, High Priestess." Lyna spoke on the behalf of Sayuri. Halina just nodded, watching the man now pace.
Priestess Kataru - May 22, 2005 02:53 PM (GMT)
"I am very honored to meet you at last High Priestess Halina." She looked back at the man once more before she started talking again.
"It started when I came here to deliver a message to you that I had recieved from my father the High Priest in the Yamani Islands, but when I arrived Sayuri said you were still sleeping so I told her I'd help her clean up the temple while I waited, which wasn't a big deal. Then the young lady came in and started praying and I saw that she was upset and injured. While Sayuri went to go get a mop, I asked the woman what had happened, and she said that she had been beaten and raped by her husband, whp now is pacing out in front of the temple." She said pointing back to him once again. "I might of left a couple of things out, but the woman was taken to the infirmary and is now being looked after. After she had fallen asleep though we came back out here and saw the man still pacing and he demaded to see his 'bloody' wife. Thus starting this whole thing."
She bowed after finishing her story. "If you want me to I can battle him, or I can leave the spell on the temple, and we can deal with him later."
Sayuri - May 30, 2005 02:03 PM (GMT)
Halina nodded her head lightly, listening to the story. Her even-leveled eyes looked calmly over Kataru for a small moment, before looking to Lyna and Sayuri who stood still. Lastly, her eyesight traveled to the man.
"Very good, Kataru." She stated, walking down the steps to sound infront of the gate. He was about to open his mouth to speak but Halina cut him off.
"I have two witnesses that your wife was injured, your wife even admitting you attacked her." Halina spoke calmly. "Tell me - Why shouldn't I bring you infront of the court?"
Lyna and Sayuri both glanced lightly at the High priestess and the others coming out in the district. Switching glances they stayed silent.
Priestess Kataru - May 30, 2005 11:06 PM (GMT)
The man looked at the High Priestess. "You think I care what you do?! Let me see my wife!" he ran forward reaching for the gate handle, only to be flung back into the open street.
"I guess I made it alittle to strong..." Kataru whispered. She looked back at the man.
"Let me see my wife!" he shouted once again running towards the gate.
Kataru winced as she watched him fly backwards once more. She walked down the steps towards Halina. "May I do something before anything else happens, High Priestess?" she asked bowing. "That is if you don't mind?"
Sayuri - May 30, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
Sayuri winced at first as she watched the man be flun backwards. 'Ouch' She thought, looking up at Lyna whose lips were pursed. Was she trying not the laugh? That had made giddiness trickle through Sayuri's stomache. She had attempted to show no emotion as he was flung backwards. And again. Both knew they were not to find this funny, and that there was always time to laugh later.
Halina sighed, looking back Kataru. "Thats quite a spell. What is that you wish to do?"
Priestess Kataru - May 31, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
"I wish to talk to the man, before anything else happens. There's something that's bothering me, now that I see how eager he is to see his wife." She placed her glaive up by a tree that was near the gate.
She walked back over to the High Priestess and walked passed her, and opened the gate. "Only males can't walk through the spell." She said as she saw a puzzling look on Halina's face. She closed the gate and stood across from the man.
"Why is it that you are so eager to see your wife, sir?"
"Because, I want to see what I've done, you Yamani wench!" he ran at her, fists ready to fight. He swung at her aiming for her face.
She caught his fist in her hand. He swung with his other, only to be caught in her other. She pushed against the man bringing him down to his knees. She came close to his face, only to smell alcohol on his breath.
"Just what I thought." She let go of him and started walking back to the gate.
"You won't stop me!" the man yelled as he ran at Kataru again.
Kataru flipped over the gate not even bothering with the handle. She looked at Halina. "He has the stench of alcohol on his breath. He's drunk. And I do believe that's the only thing we need to report him if I'm not mistaken."
Sayuri - May 31, 2005 01:16 PM (GMT)
Halina sighed, crossing her arms. "We should wait for it clear off I suppose." She started. "No point in talking to a drunk man."
Sayuri smiled faintly at the high priestesses remark. "Shall I continue cleaning, High Priestess?" She questioned bowing lightly.
Halina nodded and waved her off, "Aren't you going to be needed in the Kitchens soon, Lyna?" Lyna winced in response, bowed, and then hurried her way off.
"Catch you later, Sayuri!" She called over her shoulder, waving. Sayuri waved back as she picked up the mop and started where she left off.
"How long do expect, High Priestess Kataru?" Halina questioned, watching the now fustrated man try to grab the gate to get in.
Priestess Kataru - June 1, 2005 10:38 PM (GMT)
"Well...if I'm correct, if he keeps going at gate he should be knocked out in about 10 minutes. After he does that I know a spell that should keep him calmer." She said as she watched the man touch the gate over and over again. "The alcohol should wear off in about an hour, hour and a half. It was a very faint smell, so it should be gone soon."
Sayuri - June 10, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
Halina just nodded at Kataru. Bowing lightly, she said quietly. "Thank you." She then waved her hands around the steps. "Shall we sit?" She questioned, gathering up her robe to sit silently on the steps to wait for the drunk man to be done.
Inside, Sayuri and Lyna mopped slowly and quietly. It was Lyna who started to giggle once and quietly. The reason why was unknown. Sayuri just looked up, eyebrow raised. Then she too, let out a giggle.
Priestess Kataru - June 11, 2005 05:57 PM (GMT)
Kataru followed the woman to the steps and sat a step lower then her. "I havn't been to a temple since I left the Yamani Islands. It feels so great to be here." She said starting a conversation. "Oh that reminds me..." She pulled out a letter. "This is a letter from my adoptive father at the Emperor's Temple. I don't know what it's about though. The only thing that I can think of is that he's passing on the secret code for these to be taken off." she said as she pulled up her sleeves revealing her wrists bands.
She looked over and saw the man on the ground. "Well look who knocked himself out..."
