Eliana came up the stairway to the pages' dorms. Clutching a slip of paper, she finally found Room Three. Here it is! My very own rooms! she thought, as she fiddled with the lock.

Opening the door, Eliana found a very plain room. There were no wall coverings! And the bedding was of cotton and lamb's wool! But she supposed it would do. And then she saw two beds. Must be a mistake, surely. But there was a trunk placed in front of one of the beds, and it wasn't hers. It read Kathlayne in gold lettering.

"Not a roommate! Surely, they'd let me by myself! Oh...no!" she cried. Well, there's only one way out of this. If I do really well, Daddy might send me home. SO I've got to be the best page they've ever seen!

But Eliana had nobody to help her in that goal.
