Just read at Johnny Benson's official message board that he and Phoenix racing have parted ways. I hope that this means something better is in the works for Johnny, cause I would hate to see him not have a ride especially when he was doing good in that car!
I'm in shock right now about that news! :o

That is really sad indeed. I really like Johnny Benson. He didn't say anything about it on tonight's Inside Nextel Cup show, but it must have happened after their 11 am taping. Hopefully he'll get another ride. My mom was really looking forward to seeing him race in the Busch race at Nashville in June. (I'm making a group of my family and friends buy tickets to go with me. :P ) It would be disappointing if Johnny isn't running there.

ughhh and he is being replaced this weekend by Jamie McMurray......thats all we need, another Buschwacker.
Also Bobby Hamilton Jr will drive the #09 Cup car for Finch this week......that should be interesting!

That is too bad for Johnny, but I kind of have a feeling it was a friendly parting. He seemed very on edge this season, and I'm wondering if he just wasnt meshin with the crew.
As far as Jamie running in his place I say BOO!! lol There's far too many unbelieveably talented drivers out there who would kill for an opportunities that are being handed to the Cup drivers. :tapfoot

I dont think its a one race deal for Jamie,
Jamie has been trying to get back into busch but couldnt find a full ride so he hasnt really raced..
he raced for yellow last year and he had a pretty good year in it!
Jamie is a good driver and knows the yellow crew and he doesnt want to be just a buschwacker he'd like to find a team and stick with them!

LOL I like Jamie too! I just think it stinks that a ride comes open and they stick a cup driver in there instead of givin an up and comer a shot to show his/her stuff.

that one busch race there were 2 girls racing...Tina Gordon and I think the other one's last name was Crosby or something like that or i could be completely off about her name...

Ganassi is forming a Busch team for next year for Jamie, Casey Mears, and Sterling. He evens plans to run a 2nd part-time team as well.

Johnny quit and will be running 3-4 Cup cars for Cal Wells as a team mate to Ricky Craven.

I've read all kinds of stuff about Johnny leaving, so I don't know what to believe....but I think it will be best for him, with this new Cup deal. He had so many problems with that Busch team that were not his fault...pit problems, car problems and also getting caught up in other peoples accidents...just wasn't working out, so hopefully this Cup team will rock it!
