Start times for most of the 36 Nextel Cup races were unveiled in the
2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup media guide released Tuesday.
The first 13 races will be broadcast on Fox, with the next six on TNT
and the final 17 on ABC/ESPN.
There are 11 events that will begin at least 20 minutes later than
they did last year. There are five where the events will start at
least 20 minutes earlier.
The most significant change is to the race at Infineon Raceway, which
will now start at 5 p.m. EDT. Last year, it started at 3:30 p.m EDT.
Two of the biggest races of the year do have significantly later
starts. The Daytona 500 will start at 3:15 p.m., 45 minutes later than
last year; and the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will
start at 3:30 p.m., 40 minutes later than a year ago.
Only three races, both Dover races and the second Martinsville event,
are slated to begin before 2 p.m. EDT.
Start times for two races on TNT, the first races at Michigan and New
Hampshire, will be announced at a later date.
ABC will show the final 11 races of the season, including the 10-race
Chase For The Nextel Cup that determines the series champion.
