Title: #98 Team Closed?
Jen - December 1, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
#98 team closed up? hearing that Ray Evernham Motorsports has closed the #98 Dodge Truck Series Team that Erin Crocker drives. Supposedly most team members have be relocated to other EMS Teams and that Crocker will race a limited number of ARCA races in 2007.(12-1-2006)

I think it was the right thing to do. JMO

He should just put her full-time in ARCA for now, and have her run some Busch races

I don't think she should race Busch, but I do think she should be full-time in ARCA.

She's not ready for a Busch car. I do agree she should run a full ARCA season though and then go from there.

I'm not saying like half the season or whatever.. just some selected events. She just needs more seat time.. and ARCA would be the right place right now for her

I think even "selected events" is too much. Let her get used to the feel of these cars in a series where not so much is riding on it, before they throw her in with the big boys.

I'm a little surprised by this. I figured she would run more ARCA races (which is a good idea) but I thought she was also be doing some other stuff -if they got a sponsor. Her last column on NASCAR.com (the week of Homestead) said:
In a worst case scenario I'm going to run a mix of ARCA, Busch and Truck races, maybe even a few Cup races.
But...full-time ARCA is probably best for her.

I agree. I think full-time ARCA would be best for her next year.

That's probably the best business decision that could be made for the truck team. They just don't have the resources to get that program on track or the driver they need to get things done. I don't have a problem with Erin driving a mix of full time ARCA and some Busch races mixed in. She needs to get more seat time and expierence. She just doesn't know how to race with other people and she'll learn that and get some all important confidence racing down there.
