nanajeanie - November 15, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
holy cow, how does it do that?

NeverBeenThawed - November 16, 2006 01:44 AM (GMT)
If you don't want to know how it works, don't read below.

It's all in the math. Whenever you add the digits of a 2-digit number, and subtract them from the original number, you get a number which is a multiple of 9.

Examples:

97: 9+7=16, 97-16=81, 9*9=81
43: 4+3=7, 43-7=36, 9*4=36

If you look closely, all numbers which are a multiple of 9 are the same symbol, they just change up which symbol is associated with the multiples of 9.

Princess_Sara400 - November 16, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
and I always picked like 19 or something makes sense

NeverBeenThawed - November 16, 2006 02:28 AM (GMT)
It doesn't matter what you pick. If you follow the instructions and subtract it right, it'll come out right.

carriekins - November 16, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
I think I remember something similar on an episode of Square One.

Now, if anybody remembers Square One, I will love you forever.

NeverBeenThawed - November 16, 2006 03:26 AM (GMT)
Square one must have been just before my time.
