NeverBeenThawed - November 14, 2006 11:56 PM (GMT)
Saw it on the entry list. Kasey's driving the 9.

carriekins - November 15, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
Huh. Interesting.

Crazie - November 15, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
43 eh...different. I guess they are just trying to get her more seat time but at the same time Kasey wanted to run this track b/c he's won here before.

NeverBeenThawed - November 15, 2006 12:54 AM (GMT)
Kasey's manager is of the same family that co-owns this Busch team.

Kasey Kahne: It's All Relative to Me!

(I realize he's not related to his manager, but eesh if he doesn't have one huge family sector!)

Curb-Agajanian. Mike Curb (think records) and Cary Agajanian (long time owner/motorsports dude).

interesting! :)

Scrapbookgirl9 - November 15, 2006 12:49 PM (GMT)
it will be interesting to see how she fares in this.......

I would think this ride would be a way to technically get her out of EMS cars and see how she does. Though I'm sure that car will receive a lot of EMS help if she's in it.

NeverBeenThawed - November 15, 2006 02:01 PM (GMT)
It's an EMS motor. And, she has to qualify on time. I'm not holding my breath.

K Bear - November 15, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
It would be funny if she doesn't qualify. Who would she blame if she can't quailfy?

NeverBeenThawed - November 15, 2006 05:58 PM (GMT)
I wonder who will CC for her too, given this:
Joe Shear Fined, Suspended Indefinitely: NASCAR announced today that Joe Shear Jr., crew chief of the #43 Dodge driven by P.J. Jones in the NASCAR Busch Series, has been fined and indefinitely suspended due to rule violations discovered during post-race inspection at Phoenix .

Shear was suspended effective immediately and fined $10,000 for violating Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used that do not conform to NASCAR rules: Section 20A-12.8.1D: quarter panel height did not meet the required specification; too high in post-race inspection) of the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book.

Additionally, Jones was penalized 25 NASCAR Busch Series driver championship points and team owner Mike Curb was penalized 25 NASCAR Busch Series owner championship points for violating Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q

uh.. according to the ENTRY LIST on bgnracing.com .... they list Chris Andrews as Crew Chief (as been since the list was posted) ENTRY LIST

Princess_Sara400 - November 15, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)
Maybe Ray is going to be part owner of that team?

KaseyKahneFanForLife938 - November 15, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
hmmm interesting

Peter - November 15, 2006 09:29 PM (GMT)
Chris Andrews was the team director of the #19 car when Jeremy Mayfield drove it. Josh Browne replaced him, but he never left the Evernham organization. I could be wrong, but I think that the #43 is just a second Evernham team/car using the the #43's owner points if it rains or something. They haven't attempted all of the races, but they still might have run enough points to make the race if qualifying is rained out.

Right now, the #9 car is 10th in Busch series owner points, and finishing in the top ten in points (driver or owner) is a big deal. I believe that's one of the reasons that Kasey is in the 9 this weekend instead of Erin.

It'll be interesting to see if the alliance between Evernham Motorsports and the #43 will continue into 2007. With most Nextel Cup teams expanding in Busch, Evernham Motorsports would be at a disadvantage running just a single-car team.
