Link to story(CBS4) DENVER The suspected driver in last Friday night's hit-and-run accident, Lawrence Trujillo, confessed to being too drunk to drive, knew he had hit pedestrians and tried to hide his truck from police, CBS4's Brian Maass reports.
The accident killed Rebecca Bingham, 39, her daughter Macie, 4, and son Garrison, 2. Father and husband Frank Bingham, 41, survived the crash.
The family was hit while in a crosswalk at 15th and Arapahoe Streets Friday night as the parents pushed a stroller carrying their two children.
Maass has also learned the alleged passenger in the truck, Eric Snell, 35, told police he knew Trujillo was drunk and was driving recklessly.

Trujillo was charged Sunday with killing the mother and two children by driving drunk through a red light and striking the family, then leaving the scene.
He was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail. Magistrate Beth Faragher also ordered him to stay away from the father.
Trujillo was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide involving driving under the influence, four counts of vehicular assault while driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Snell, was charged as an accessory in crime, according to court documents. Snell was also ordered to stay away from Frank Bingham, posted $25,000 bail and was released from jail Sunday. His lawyer, Jesse Wiens, said the charge against his client has not been specified.

This story just breaks my heart. I keep going back and reading the stories on the news sites, and it just gets worse. I feel so bad for the husband and dad, his entire family gone. :( I wish the world wasn't like this.
