Title: Kasey's Post Race Quotes
Court - November 13, 2006 01:01 AM (GMT)
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) – 7th
“The front wouldn’t turn and the back was loose in order to try to make it turn. It wasn’t a fun car to drive, but it was decent. It was a top 10 car and we had a better race than we expected. I couldn’t see anything. The sun is straight in your eyes all the way until you have to brake. You just guess and make sure you don’t hit the guy in front of you on restarts. He gasses first and then you go. That’s just the way it is. I think they should start the race an hour earlier. That causes wrecks.”
Great job, Kasey & Hyper Vipers! Kept improving the car, and came home with a top-10.
Onto Homestead and hopefully a win to end the season!

im gunna take a guess that kasey is just aggravated about the people in the chase... some dont even belong in there... i think he thinks since he has won more he should be up there.. which i think should be true too but its not and for a man who has the most wins of the season and be 9th and have no chance now is wrong... for the champion only winning like 3 races this year or somthing .. i dunno .. im just ranting :rant

I don't know what you've heard or read, but that's not what Kasey has expressed. Of course he's upset that he's not going to win the Cup this year, but he's not upset that some of the Top 10 drivers do or do not belong. He's more upset with himself than anything. He's had a great year, but he obviously knew what we all know, he very well should have been in contention for the Cup. Fate delt him a bad hand, and now it's on to 2007 when he will with the Cup. :na

I think Kasey's ready to be done with the season and be able to just reflect, just like he did at the end of last season. And if we see just half the improvement in his maturity that we saw this season, I'd say pretty much everybody needs to watch out. I'm certain the number 1 goal for the 9 team will be consistency in '07.
Also, it's not unusual for the driver with the most wins to be mired in the back end of the top 10. Ryan Newman won 8 races a few years ago and finished 8th. Until more points are awarded for wins, that's just how it's going to be sometimes.
Kasey's said time and time again that he wouldn't change one thing about this season, and that he wouldn't trade the 6 wins for the Championship lead.
If Jimmie wins he'll have 5 wins, which is only 1 less than Kasey. Same for Harvick and Kenseth...

Carrie I really can't say much other than you've already said......
hopefully we'll see NASCAR make the win change after the season is over, we can only hope.........I can tell you if they finally really reward winning, I might would hug Brian France's neck, but only for a second cause then I'd tell him the other stuff he needs to fix, LOL
but I'm like Kasey, I wouldn't trade any of this season........6 wins, so what no championship, 6 wins has been freaking awesome!!!! He's still growing, the team is growing, the organization is growing.
I'm very excited about next year, I think there is a very good shot that Scott, ESad and Kasey will all be in contention for the Chase and the Championship. You aren't going to outwork Ray's bunch and they are going to work hard to fix the problems and get better
it also makes me damn proud to be an EMS fan and we already know we are all damn proud to call ourselves Kasey fans!
Let's go close out the year with an awesome run at Homestead and then get ready for 2007, another awesome year!

Pardon me in advance for paring down your post to just the bit I want to comment on. This to me says that there's no real need for the change in the points system. These guys have just one less win than Kasey (2 for Matty), and yet are sitting 1-2-3 in points. That says that they've both won a lot of races, as well as been consistent, and used both of these factors to their advantage...I don't honestly think that we'll be seeing major changes next year. Which actually is fine by me.
racefan9 - November 13, 2006 09:32 PM (GMT)
Great job, Kasey and crew!
Rae - November 13, 2006 10:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah for the number 7 finish!! :clap :clap I am sad there is only one race left, but kind of excited since I am definately going to go to a race in 2007. I didn't get to go this year, dang financial stuff! Anyway, I hope he has a blast the last weekend, we are throwing like a last race day party this sunday, so that will be fun! Anyway, great job to the #9 team! :drive

:clap to Carrie and Christy! I think you both said all I was thinking! :nod I think consistency will be a huge goal for them in 2007 too, but 6 wins this year and making the chase was awesome to see happen for the 9 crew! So I guess alls I can add is my kudos to the 9 team! And EMS! :clap
Onward to Homestead! *tear* sad to see the season end but, like Court said, hopefully we will score a win to end the season with!
