Don't remind me about the weather... I have to leave on Monday so if we don't race Sunday, no race for this girl!
My girlfriend down there said it's supposed to rain in Southern Texas and we're supposed to be fine at the track.
*crosses fingers*

The good news is, it's only Wednesday. That's plenty of time for a cold front to stall, shift, move faster, etc. :)
NeverBeenThawed - November 1, 2006 01:53 PM (GMT)
I'm watching TWC right now. It's cold with the wind chill factor up in the north and midwest. Brr!
Katie9 - November 1, 2006 01:55 PM (GMT)
No cold... I'm leaving MN to get away from the cold dang it!
Robin - November 1, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
well its normaly not cold in texas... but only a few months like oct- dec it is...

i want it to be a pretty weekend for everyone!!!

The National Weather Service is calling for partly cloudy skies Friday and Friday night (so qualifying should be fine). There's a 40% chance of rain on Saturday, and a 50% chance of rain on Sunday. Highs in the lower 60s all 3 days.
My gut feeling is that they'll get it in.
Princess_Sara400 - November 1, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry but this year I swear rain follows Nascar or snow even lol
kimmerlh - November 1, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
welp it held off in dover so I hope they get texas in. I MIGHT have sunday off or shortened hrs, but def have mon off so eh. But for all that are going I hope it gets in sun.

here is the 7 day forcast....
grr
carriekins - November 1, 2006 04:03 PM (GMT)
"Spotty showers" and "occasional rain" should really be okay. It will be a cool track, though. That's for sure. I'd be more worried about Monday and Tuesday if I were in Texas -- that's your best chance for rain right there.
Katie9 - November 1, 2006 04:04 PM (GMT)
That's what has me worried because I have to leave on Monday... I have no choice.

What's the weather in MN supposed to be like Monday? You might be delayed getting out of Texas but what will really throw you will be the weather in MN, too. If both airports are running delays, Monday could be a long day for ya. :(
Katie9 - November 1, 2006 04:10 PM (GMT)
Monday: Sunny and 50's here in good 'ol MN
This happened in April too I got stuck in Dallas for almost 3 hours because of delays.

I don't think you'll get sun, Robin, but you'll likely get the race in.
Robin - November 1, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
heyy here is another forcast thing from another news station down here
carriekins - November 1, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
Um. At this point, I think you're freaking yourself out for the sake of freaking out. All you can do is wait and see. But I studied meteorology all through college -- a 40% chance of spotty showers on Sunday is not going to mean a washed out race.

:nod
Like I said... my only concern is Monday since I have to be home on Tuesday.
Katrina9 - November 1, 2006 05:26 PM (GMT)
I hope who ever is going to the race this weekend that it is a nice weekend for racing!! Have fun! :)
KKAngel9 - November 1, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
Hopefully it won't rain on Sunday or if it does, it will just be a light rain in the morning and they'll be able to get the dryers out and get the track dried and ready to go before too long. That's what happened at Martinsville. Not only that but during the race, the skies even cleared up and the sun ended up coming out. Last weekend, I didn't get to see practice and qualifying because that was rained out in Atlanta only because the rain never stopped all day on Friday. The weather was perfect on Sunday though. :) So hopefully the weather will turn out good for you to see the race.
LdyKahne9 - November 1, 2006 06:17 PM (GMT)
I live in Wichita Falls, 2 hours from Texas Motor Speedway. I'll be at the race Sunday. Usually when we have a 40% chance of rain, it does not rain. I think we will be good to go for the race Sunday. :)
