I went to the local mall on Friday because I wanted to pick up a copy of NASCAR Scene (I don't subscribe and I wanted the one after Brian's win.) and the only place that I knew of that had it was Checker Flag Lightning, the NASCAR store.

I get there and WTF? It's not where I left it last. The last time this happened, they'd moved it across the hall. So I didn't panic right away. I started wandering the mall looking for my store... The only store I like in that hell hole.

Finally I got to the center of the mall. No store yet. So I went to guest services. My sister was with me. She said "This might not be important to you, but it's important to us. Who ate the NASCAR store?" and the lady responded "The mall monsters." She then confirmed that the store was gone.

I was crushed. But then I remembered that on the other end of town, there was another NASCAR store. So I calmed myself down and decided to go today.

It's gone too.

There's a freaking conspiracy going on here, I swear.

You are the only people that would understand, so please say something comforting to me...

I know the feeling. The ONLY Nascar store we had in town shut down only a few months after it opened. I cried.

thankfully my family has been lucky enough to have our store survive and we opened our 2nd one back in May and just brought Kyle Busch in during raceweek to sign autographs.....

but its been rough, its a very hard business to survive in.

Christy, does your bro sell Nascar Scene? Or do you know where in Charlotte I can buy it?

I know there is one a few towns away from me but I don't wanna drive down there. We used to have one really close but some business bought them out. It is sad that it is getting like this

He has had scene the past few weeks........don't know if he plans to continue to sell them all the time or not.....I shall check

Not sure if it's the same around there... But one of our local Wal Marts has it... NONE of our stores within like 2 hours had it for the longest time and then they built a new Wal Mart and there it was... It was odd, but I appreciated it regardless... Might be something to scope out...

I know how you feel. Until I found my current spot, Sutton Speed n Sport, there was a place in one of the malls but it went bye-bye sometime late last year, which was kind of sad.

I feel your pain. We only have one NASCAR store around here...and it leaves a lot to be desired. Plus, I can never wear anything NASCAR related while in there, because the guy hounds me to death, trying to get me to buy stuff.

We dont have any racing stores here. It makes me sad b/c the closest one is at Myrtle Beach. And i go there alot but I really want a racing jacket and cant get one b/c there is no racing store here and the place that sells the jackets doesnt have kasey's.

wow. they are disappearing. there were two in knoxville that shut down while i was there within 6 months of eachother. and before i got a sub to NI i could only find it at wal mart in MD but they don't have it anymore and don't get any other kind of NASCAR mags. the store in MD shut down about a year ago.

its sad. we got a Dicks sporting goods in our mall but no racing stuff its only online. and Bass Pro in a mall about 2 hours away...none there either cept maybe a few XXL shirts. BOO! to shutting down these stores!

than again, I know if the store in my mall had better stuff (up to date, not just XXL sixes) then they could have done better business, that was always the big complaint.

We only have 1 Nascar store around here. It's sad to hear a lot of them are closing. :(
