Dude. Helena and I were totally saying NOT to bring 128 this weekend. Kenny Francis, Mike Shiplett... I love you guys.
Princess_Sara400 - October 12, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
Why are they not bringing it though?
Court - October 12, 2006 04:56 PM (GMT)
Probably saving it for one of the other races maybe
SD#1KaseyFan - October 12, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
I kind of remember Kasey saying that he thought that this car was better than 128, but since he crashed during the All Star race they couldn't bring it. I could be wrong though.
Court - October 12, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
Yeah.. he said he thinks it's faster than 128, but it's just not as lucky.
SD#1KaseyFan - October 12, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but there were extenuating circumstances surrounding that whole thing. New surface, a million dollars just to name a few.
carriekins - October 12, 2006 05:22 PM (GMT)
I think they've been wanting to use 131 on an intermediate track for a while now... you'll remember how great it was at Dover, you know, before he wrecked with Tony.
My thing with 128 is that I don't want them putting all their eggs in one basket, so to speak, by just counting on that one particular car, especially when they have other carbon-copies of it available in the shop.
I think Kenny/Mike/whoever made the right call bringing out a different car. It was really fast at the All-Star race, and he was really happy with it at Dover, so I think they're just being realistic, and giving 128 a much-needed break. I'm sure we'll see it again at Atlanta or Texas, though. :)

That's what I was thinking, too.
Any they probably want to show everyone that they can win in a different car..

Couldn't agree more. Show everyone that EMS as a whole is fast, not just 128. Was kind of surprised when I first saw that it wasn't 128, but when I saw where it had ran before I got excited.
carriekins - October 12, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
And, frankly, 128 makes me nervous now. Everytime I see it on the preview, I get a flutter in my stomach.
Helena and I had a long discussion about 128 last night at the Vickers thing. We were very happy when we got home and saw 131 listed. Hee!
thermodynamics - October 12, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
I think it's also because they didn't want to repaint 128 for the Mopar paint scheme. Paint 131 for Mopar, leave 128 red.
carriekins - October 12, 2006 05:39 PM (GMT)
That's a possibility, but 128 wore the Click scheme and the McDonald's scheme.
My guess is 128 is the backup this weekend... not with CamoMopar.

Hmmm, I wonder if the early draw/ somewhat warmer track will hinder our efforts.
